About The Rich Henna Stain
Getting that deep, dark stain is not magic—it is preparation and quality product. I use only my own triple-sifted Sojat henna, which is entirely chemical-free. Before we start, I will walk you through the aftercare routine, specifically the lemon-sugar sealant I apply, which is crucial for locking in that rich maroon colour over the first 48 hours.
Why Natural Henna Matters
Many clients ask me why their henna sometimes turns orange instead of deep maroon. The answer almost always comes down to the quality of the paste. I avoid store-bought cones filled with chemicals, dyes, or preservatives. Instead, I mix my own batch using 100% natural, triple-sifted Sojat henna powder. It is safer for your skin, smells earthy and soothing, and produces that signature dark stain that every bride dreams of.
The Importance of Aftercare
Once the design is applied, the work is only halfway done. A deep, rich colour relies heavily on how you treat the henna while it is on your skin:
- Keep it warm: Heat helps the stain darken. I always advise my brides to stay warm.
- The sealant: I provide a fresh lemon-sugar mixture to apply once the design is semi-dry. This helps the dried henna stick to the skin longer, allowing the dye to release fully.
- Moisture: Avoid water for the first 12 to 24 hours. The longer you keep the area dry, the deeper the final maroon shade will be.
