Breast Reduction and Lift Surgery

A breast reduction or lift is a significant, precise procedure that takes 3 to 4 hours under general anesthesia. During the surgery, I remove excess tissue and skin to relieve strain or restore shape. Because this involves a sterile operation theatre and post-op drains to prevent fluid build-up, you will need a 1 to 2-day hospital stay for monitoring.

Understanding the Procedure

When we talk about breast surgery, there are two distinct goals. A Breast Reduction is often about health. If you are experiencing chronic back pain, neck strain, or poor posture due to heavy breast tissue, this surgery can offer significant physical relief. I remove the excess fat and glandular tissue, reposition the nipple, and ensure a comfortable, lighter result.

A Breast Lift (Mastopexy), on the other hand, is about restoring a youthful, firmer position without necessarily changing the volume. If you feel your breasts have lost their shape or sag, a lift can redefine your silhouette.

Safety and Precision

My approach is safety-first. Every breast reduction includes a mandatory histopathology lab examination of the removed tissue. This is a non-negotiable step to ensure complete clinical safety.

We perform these surgeries under general anesthesia in a fully equipped hospital setting. You will be monitored closely by a team, and we use suction drains initially to manage fluid build-up and promote smooth healing.

Recovery and Care

Surgery is only the beginning. Recovery requires patience. You will be provided with a specialized surgical support bra to minimize swelling and keep everything in place.
