Legal Advocacy and Community Rights in Delhi
A look at my efforts beyond the courtroom—advocating for the legal fraternity and conducting legal awareness sessions across Delhi schools and communities.
I speak out during the Dwarka Court strike against the Advocates Amendment Bill, 2025. I explain how this bill threatens our right to protest and appeal to all lawyers across India to raise their objections to protect the autonomy of our profession.
A glimpse from the protest against the unjust Advocates Amendment Bill, 2025. We are prepared for a large-scale, all-India protest because this is not just a one or two-day strike; it's a fight for the future of our legal fraternity.
Our protest against the proposed amendments to the Advocates Act was covered in the news. The bill is unjust, and we are urging everyone to send their objections to the government to help save the dignity and autonomy of the legal community.
This collage captures our protest against the proposed amendments to the Advocates Act. The bill threatens to demolish the autonomy of the Bar Council of India by allowing government nominations, and we are standing united against it.
Another view of our protest against the Advocates (Amendment) Bill. By allowing the Centre to nominate members to the Bar Council, this bill compromises the independence of the entire legal profession.
It was an honor to conduct a session on criminal law and raise legal awareness among the teachers of Sarvodaya Kanya Vidyalaya in Delhi. Teachers are the pillars of our society, and empowering them with knowledge is a privilege.
Delivering a lecture on cyber laws at Rajkiya Pratibha Vikas Vidyalaya, Raj Niwas, Delhi. Educating the community about digital safety and their legal rights in the online world is a crucial part of my work.
About this collection
You will see a lot of court photos here, but my work goes well beyond case files. I actively campaign for the independence of our legal institutions, because if our lawyers cannot practice without unnecessary interference, it is you—the common citizen—who ultimately loses protection. This space is about transparency and keeping you informed about the system that governs our rights.
Being a lawyer is about more than just arguing cases in court. It is about accountability.
The Fight for Justice
My advocacy work, including the protests against the Advocates Amendment Bill, is driven by a simple principle: the law must remain independent. When the government seeks to control the Bar Council by nominating members or restricting our right to protest, they are weakening the very people who stand up for the common man. I believe in speaking out, whether that means engaging with the media, writing to the government, or standing in solidarity with my colleagues at the Dwarka Court.
Legal Awareness in Action
Knowledge is a weapon. I regularly conduct workshops at institutions like Sarvodaya Kanya Vidyalaya and Rajkiya Pratibha Vikas Vidyalaya. These sessions are not about heavy legal theory. We talk about real, everyday issues:
- Cyber Safety: How to identify online fraud and use the 1930 helpline effectively.
- Police Interaction: Knowing your rights when dealing with traffic stops or police notices.
- Women's Rights: Understanding protection under the Domestic Violence Act and POSH guidelines.
My goal is to simplify these laws into practical advice that teachers, students, and community members can use to protect themselves and their families. Whether I am collaborating with NGOs like Poonam Sant Mahila Evam Vikas Samiti or discussing legal history at the National Judicial Museum, every step is aimed at making the law accessible to everyone. If you want to understand how current legal changes might impact your daily life, let’s talk.
