My Journey: From Photographer to Mother
Becoming a mom completely shifted how I view these fleeting moments. Here is a glimpse into the story behind my lens and why I prioritize raw, authentic emotions over stiff posing.
Sharing my story of pregnancy and motherhood on a platform like Josh Talks was a huge milestone for me. It reinforced my belief that being open about our journeys helps us connect and support one another. This experience is at the heart of why I do what I do.
Bringing my son Aveer with me to the Josh Talks stage was a full-circle moment. He is my inspiration and the reason I approach my work with so much more empathy and understanding. Being a mom has made me a better photographer.
My family is my everything. Having my husband and my son by my side for this important event meant the world to me. Their support fuels my passion for capturing these precious family moments for others.
This journey has taught me so much about courage and vulnerability. My goal as a photographer is to create a safe space where you feel comfortable enough to be yourselves, so I can capture the authentic story of your family.
About My Journey: From Photographer to Mother
Having shared my own journey on platforms like Josh Talks, I’ve learned that the most beautiful photos aren’t the ones where you are perfectly posed. They are the ones where you feel safe, heard, and completely yourself. Whether we are doing an outdoor maternity shoot or a cozy newborn session at your home, my goal is to create that same comfortable space for you, so you can focus on making memories instead of worrying about the camera.
Photography has always been my passion, but experiencing pregnancy and motherhood firsthand changed my entire approach. I used to focus purely on the frame, but now I understand the exhaustion, the anxiety, and the immense joy that comes with this chapter. That shift is why my sessions look the way they do.
Why I Focus on Comfort
I know that pregnancy can be physically draining and emotionally overwhelming. This is why I suggest golden hour, outdoor shoots—not just because the light is magical, but because nature provides a relaxed environment where you don't feel like you are on display. If you are doing an in-home newborn session, I come to you. We work around your baby’s feeding schedule and your need for rest. There is no rush, no 'studio' pressure, and absolutely no complex posing that leaves you tired.
A Different Kind of Photography
My work is rooted in my own life experiences. I treat every shoot as if I am photographing a friend. I want to capture the candid laughter, the quiet intimacy between you and your partner, and the tiny details of your newborn that you will want to look back on years from now. I don't use heavy artificial lights or forced props because that isn't what motherhood feels like. It feels like golden light, messy hair, and raw, unfiltered love. If this sounds like the kind of memory you want to freeze in time, let’s talk.
