My Featured Work & Candid Moments
A curated collection of my favourite shots. From the high-energy pulse of Mumbai festivals to the quiet, genuine emotions of a wedding, these images show how I capture the real story of an event.
This is an award-winning shot from the Sanpadya Cha Maharaja Aagman Sohala in Navi Mumbai. I used a telephoto lens to isolate the magnificent idol against the night sky, creating a sense of grandeur and devotion that defines the Ganesh Chaturthi festival.
A perfect candid moment from a Maharashtrian wedding ceremony. I love capturing these genuine interactions, like the bride's joyful smile as flower petals rain down, creating a memory that feels as happy as the moment itself.
Capturing the peak energy of a college DJ night. This silhouette shot against the bright stage lights shows how I play with light and shadow to convey the electric atmosphere and collective excitement of the crowd.
This video captures the vibrant energy of a Gudi Padwa Shobhyatra in Mumbai. My goal is to immerse you in the event, showing the colorful procession, traditional attire, and joyful dancing that make our street festivals so unique.
The Haldi ceremony is all about fun and uninhibited joy. This photo of the couple playfully applying turmeric paste is a great example of the unposed, happy moments I strive to capture during wedding celebrations.
A dramatic night shot from the Kopri Cha Samrat procession. Using colored smoke and spotlights, I framed the massive idol to create a powerful and memorable image that reflects the festival's high energy.
The first dance at a Sangeet ceremony, captured under the stage lights. I know how to work with challenging lighting to freeze these fast-moving, romantic moments, ensuring the couple's performance is beautifully preserved.
A detailed close-up of the Sanpadya Cha Maharaja idol. This shot highlights the intricate craftsmanship of the crown and the expressive eyes, showcasing my focus on capturing not just the big picture but also the small, artistic details.
About Featured
I don't look for the perfect pose; I look for the split second where real emotion breaks through. My kit—a Sony A7MIV paired with prime lenses—allows me to stay unobtrusive while catching those genuine, unscripted reactions that you will actually want to look back on.
My Approach
Photography for me is about the vibe, not just the framing. When I'm shooting, I try to blend into the background. Whether it's a hectic Ganesh Aagman or an intimate Sangeet, my goal is to capture the feeling of the day so that when you see the photos, you remember how it felt to be there.
Why I Use Specific Gear
People ask why I carry so much gear. For events, I use the Sony Alpha ecosystem with G-Master lenses. The 70-200mm allows me to stay far away during sensitive ceremonies, so you don't even know I'm there, while my wide-angle prime lenses let me jump right into the middle of the crowd during processions without losing quality. It’s all about being ready for the chaos.
What You Can Expect
- Unposed Moments: I avoid staged drama. If you are laughing, I want to see the real smile.
- High-Energy Coverage: I thrive in low light and high-movement situations, whether it's a college DJ night or a festive parade.
- Fast Turnaround: You get your highlights quickly. I know you want to share your event moments while they are still fresh.
I’m based in Navi Mumbai but ready to travel across Maharashtra if the event has the right energy. If you're looking for someone who cares more about the story than the pose, let's talk.
Umesh Shinde
I’m Umesh, and I believe the best shots happen when you’re not looking at the camera. Whether it’s a high-energy procession or a quiet Haldi ritual, I focus on capturing the feeling of the day, not just the people in it.
