Shreya's Featured Modeling Portfolio: Expressions and Movement
Modeling is storytelling for me. My dance training brings a unique rhythm to every shot, whether it is for a brand campaign or a creative portrait series.
As a dancer, I find stories in movement. Here, I am modeling a traditional red and green Kanchi half-saree, using a classic Bharatanatyam pose to bring a sense of timeless grace and energy to the garment.
Embodying the spirit of a regal Maharashtrian queen. This look features intricate diamond and emerald jewelry, including a statement necklace and maang tikka, perfectly complementing the rich Peshwai-style attire for a powerful character portrayal.
Modeling a magnificent royal blue and pink Kanjivaram silk saree against the backdrop of ancient temple carvings. This shoot was about capturing a feeling of queenly elegance and reverence, letting the rich fabric and traditional jewelry shine.
There is a simple joy in being surrounded by nature. This shot, taken in a field of sunflowers, showcases a beautiful brown and light green saree, capturing a feeling of happiness and connection to the earth.
This video captures the quiet devotion and grace of a temple visit. Modeling a serene seafoam green Banarasi silk saree, I wanted to convey a story of peace and elegance through subtle movements and expressions.
Bringing a modern, edgy vibe to traditional wear. This look pairs a multi-patterned cotton saree with bold sunglasses and a contemporary clutch, showing how ethnic fashion can be styled for a confident, urban aesthetic.
A behind the scenes glimpse into a studio shoot for a stunning maroon Banarasi lehenga. This video shows the process of getting into character, highlighting the rich fabric and puff-sleeve blouse design before the final shot.
About this collection
My Bharatanatyam background helps me handle heavy bridal sarees and complex jewelry sets with grace, as I am used to holding static poses for long periods. When you book me, you get someone who understands how to work with fabric, lighting, and movement to create frames that feel natural and alive, rather than stiff.
Every project I take on is rooted in my identity as a dancer. When I stand before the lens, I am not just wearing the outfit; I am trying to embody the character the clothing demands. Whether it is the regal stature of a Peshwa queen or the effortless flow of a casual cotton saree, my focus is on bringing the vision of your brand to the forefront.
Why my dance background matters for your shoot
My years of training in Bharatanatyam have given me deep control over my expressions and body language. This translates directly into:
- Posing precision: I know how to use subtle head tilts and hand mudras to frame your jewelry or highlight the drape of a saree.
- Endurance: I am comfortable working through long hours, even when wearing heavy bridal gear or temple jewelry that requires perfect posture.
- Self-draping: I handle basic self-draping for rapid changes, ensuring we make the most of our booked time on set.
I am based in Bengaluru and available for everything from half-day ethnic catalog shoots to detailed bridal editorials. I love collaborating with photographers and stylists who view fashion as a creative process. If you are looking for a model who can bring a mix of traditional grace and modern adaptability to your next campaign, I would love to chat.
