My Style Diary & Fashion Experiments

Welcome to my personal experiment lab! Here, I share the reality of upcycling—the hits, the misses, and the process of turning forgotten sarees into outfits I actually wear. No filters, just honest style lessons.

Not every experiment is a success! Sometimes the fabric doesn't cooperate, or the design just doesn't come out right. This "blunder edition" shows a few looks that didn't quite hit the mark, because learning what not to do is also important.

Here's a peek at the "before." This is the affordable green saree I bought from Amazon. Stay tuned to see what I turned it into! This is where the journey of upcycling begins.

Organza fabric is a bit stiff, so it's important to choose the right design. In this video, I share ideas like kurtis, shrugs, skirts, or tops that work well with organza sarees.

Banarasi fabric is stiff, so it's best for structured outfits. I suggest making straight suits or stylish shrugs. I also made a blouse and pants set to mix and match with other pieces.

This video is full of ideas for plain sarees. You can create a "Dil Toh Pagal Hai" style Anarkali, a shirt and pant set from a jute saree, or a shimmery palazzo suit.

Looking for summer kurti design ideas? This video shows different styles you can get stitched, like using coin lace, potli buttons, or creating Pakistani-style designs with lace detailing.

A collage of some of my favorite saree reuse projects. Looking back at these transformations inspires me to keep being creative and finding new ways to practice sustainable fashion.

A festive look created by upcycling a saree blouse piece into a beautiful crop top, paired with a simple black skirt. This is a great way to create a Navratri or Garba outfit on a budget.

Floral printed sarees are perfect for so many styles. Depending on the fabric, you can make an organza skirt, a chiffon Anarkali, or a cotton sharara suit.

About My Style Diary & Experiments

Not every experiment hits the mark, and that is okay! This section is where I keep it real—showing you the hits, the misses, and the 'blunder edition' outfits. It is part of the process, and seeing what doesn't work is just as important as finding that perfect style for your fabric.

My style diary is more than just pretty photos. It is where I document my personal experiments with upcycling. Whether it is turning a thrifted green saree into a festive set or realizing a jumpsuit design didn't fit right, I believe in complete transparency. Why? Because I want you to learn from my journey.

Fashion should be practical, sustainable, and above all, fun. When you are looking at these transformations, you aren't just seeing a finished product. You are seeing the fabric choice, the silhouette experimentation, and the honest reality of the tailoring process. If you have a stack of sarees sitting in your almari, don’t just leave them there. Let’s look at their fabric, their fall, and their potential together.

My approach is to always try, sometimes fail, but ultimately create something unique that feels like you. If you have a specific piece of clothing you’ve been nervous to cut up, send me a message. We can talk about what’s possible, what might be tricky, and how to make the most of what you already own.
