Interiors Built with Trusted, Lasting Materials
Beautiful design starts underneath the surface. I prioritize durability in every project, using only verified, high-performance materials that handle Mumbai's climate and daily wear.
The final quality of any interior project depends on the materials used. I work exclusively with trusted brands like Century Ply, Asian Paints, and Hafele to ensure your office or home furniture is durable and stays looking sharp for years to come.
About Quality Materials, Lasting Results
People often ask why I insist on specific brands like Century Ply or Hafele hardware. The reason is simple: Mumbai’s humidity eats through low-cost materials in less than two years. When I build your wardrobe or workstation, I use Marine Grade BWR plywood because I want that hinge to close smoothly for the next decade, not just the next season. I show you the materials before we start, so there is no guesswork.
In the design world, it is easy to get distracted by glossy finishes or trendy paint colors. But interiors fail quickly if the core is weak. My process at Xena Designs focuses on the invisible foundation—the plywood, the edge banding, and the hardware that holds everything together.
I do not believe in using unbranded, low-cost materials to cut quotes. If a shelf sags or a drawer gets stuck after a year, that reflects on my work. That is why I maintain a consistent procurement process. Whether I am renovating a cramped home office in Thane or a corporate floor in Mumbai, I stick to a reliable roster of suppliers.
Here is the standard I maintain for every project:
- Structural Integrity: I only use 18mm Marine Grade or BWR (Boiling Water Resistant) plywood from brands like Century and Green Ply to fight local humidity.
- Hardware Longevity: For movement, I rely on Hafele, Blum, and Ebco. These are mechanisms that take the daily wear of heavy usage without breaking.
- Electrical Safety: With high-load office equipment and home appliances, I use FRLS wiring from Polycab and modular switches from Anchor or GM to prevent short circuits.
- Finishing: My paintwork uses Asian Paints and Berger for long-lasting vibrancy, while the laminates are sourced specifically for scratch resistance.
We plan to build once, so you do not have to call for repairs later. You see the branding on the plywood sheets, and you feel the weight of the hardware. This isn't just about making things look good; it is about ensuring they stay that way.
