About Playful Prop Portraits
People think props are just things you hold, but in my shoots, they’re part of the character. Whether we’re using fresh fruit to match your eyeshadow or a vintage prop to set a moody tone, the goal is to make the shot look like it belongs in a magazine. If you have a specific idea—a color theme or an object you love—bring it along. We’ll spend the time to get the lighting and the angle perfect, so the prop feels like it was always meant to be there.
I don’t just want to click a photo; I want to create a world. Using props helps us slow down, look at the composition, and really play with the frame. When we shoot, it’s not just standing there and smiling. We are building a narrative.
For my 'Only Red' series, for example, we used a single rose to create a sense of romantic tension. For the fruit-based shoots, we coordinate makeup, wardrobe, and lighting to make the colors pop. It’s all about those small details that make a portrait stand out.
