A 1,300 sq ft transformation for a busy professional, blending arched niches and bold colors into a personal, functional sanctuary.

The entryway sets a playful and welcoming tone. A bold, chevron-patterned blue door opens to a foyer with patterned Moroccan floor tiles and a custom arched storage unit that combines open shelving with concealed cabinets.

Functionality was key in the foyer. I designed a custom bench with built-in shoe storage and added an organic, free-form mirror to create a practical and stylish corner for arrivals and departures.

A closer look at the arched niche cabinet in the foyer. The combination of deep blue paint and warm wood provides a striking color contrast, turning a simple storage solution into a statement piece.

To create a sense of separation without sacrificing light, I installed a glass and metal partition between the dining and living areas. This defines the two zones while maintaining an open, airy feel perfect for entertaining.

The dining nook is designed for both solo meals and intimate gatherings. A comfortable upholstered bench is paired with a classic cane-back chair, all centered around a gallery wall of art prints that reflect the client's personality.

A full view of the cozy dining area. The wooden table adds warmth, while the blue upholstery on the bench and chair ties in with the color palette of the adjacent living room.

The living room is bathed in natural light, highlighting the mix of colors and textures. The space is anchored by a large clock and a classic chandelier, blending modern and traditional elements.

A detail of the living room, showing how the cool tones of the blue sofa are balanced by the warm hues in the artwork and the natural wood of the coffee table.

The kitchen is designed around a functional island that doubles as a breakfast bar. I chose a deep teal for the cabinetry and paired it with warm wood bar stools and terracotta pendant lights for a rich, layered look.

A view into the open kitchen, framed by a custom arched doorway. This perspective shows how the kitchen, dining, and living areas flow into one another, creating a cohesive and inviting space.
