About Epic Peak Treks in the Western Ghats
Don't overthink the gear—you just need a sturdy pair of shoes and a decent rain jacket if you are trekking in the monsoon. We take care of the rest, from forest department permits and local jeep transfers to the homestay basics. You will be sleeping in dormitory-style rooms with floor mattresses, which is how we keep the Malnad vibe authentic and the cost manageable for the whole gang.
Why these treks feel different
We do not believe in luxury resorts when you are out to conquer a mountain. Our treks to places like Kodachadri or the steep, narrow ridges of Netravathi are about the raw experience. When you book a slot, you get the full package: private transport from Bangalore or Mysore, certified guides who know these trails better than anyone, and forest entry permits sorted well in advance.
What to expect on the trail
- Stay: We use rustic Malnad-style homestays near the base. Expect dormitory setups and floor mattresses. It is not about plush beds; it is about sharing stories by a wood-fire with the group after a long day of climbing.
- Food: Think local. We serve authentic Malnad meals—rice, sambar, palya—and hot coffee that hits differently at that altitude.
- Weather: Whether it is the misty monsoon season or the clear skies of winter, the Western Ghats are unpredictable. Be ready for leeches, slippery trails, and sudden rains. We provide first-aid, but your best asset is your 'chilled out' attitude.
