About Karnataka Monsoon Treks
Monsoon trekking here is raw and real—expect muddy trails, leeches, and thick mist, but that is exactly what makes the Western Ghats so alive. We keep it practical: you just need a sturdy pair of shoes, a good raincoat, and a spirit for adventure. We handle the tricky forest permits and route planning so you can focus on the trail, the rain, and the chai waiting at the base camp.
The Western Ghats transform completely when the monsoon hits. What looks like a standard hill trek in summer turns into a landscape of cascading waterfalls, endless green meadows, and clouds that sit right at your feet. Whether you are aiming for the challenging 21km Kumara Parvatha circuit or looking for an accessible hike like Netravati or Kudremukha, we have a batch heading out every Friday night.
Why Trek With Us
- Zero Planning Stress: We sort out the forest permits, local guides, and homestay logistics for spots like Bandaje and Gangadikal. You just show up at the meeting point.
- The BT Family Vibe: Most people join solo, but everyone leaves with new friends. We prioritize the group energy as much as the summit view.
- Real-Time Updates: Monsoon weather in the Ghats can be unpredictable. We keep a close watch on forest department alerts to ensure our trails are safe and accessible.
Planning Your Trip
We run weekend departures from Bengaluru, ensuring you get the most out of your two days off. Our trips typically include comfortable non-AC tempo traveller transport and shared budget homestays or tents. Since these are monsoon treks, the trail conditions change weekly—we provide updates on which trails are best for beginners versus seasoned trekkers. If you are new to this, we recommend starting with our easier, shorter treks before attempting the steeper climbs. Just pack light, bring an extra pair of socks, and be ready for the rain.
Bengaluru Trekkers
We started as a group of friends wanting to hit the trails and quickly grew into a community of over 100,000 trekkers. We handle the logistics like transport, permits, and guides so you can just focus on the mountain air and making new friends. Banni, let's explore together!
