About Beyond the Ghats: Coastal & Island Escapes
Moving from high-altitude trails to the coast changes the pace but not the spirit of our trips. Whether we are navigating the narrow mangrove channels in Honnavar or hopping between the islands in Andaman, our focus remains on keeping the group size manageable so you experience the place rather than just rushing through it. We handle the ferry bookings, the local permits, and the scuba logistics, so you can focus on the sunrise or the quiet of a private beach.
While we built our reputation on the Western Ghats, the call of the ocean was too strong to ignore. These coastal and island trips are for when you want the same Trekker's Adda community vibe but with a different backdrop.
Honnavar Backwaters
In Karnataka, we head to Honnavar for a slower pace. You will find us boating through the backwaters during the golden hour, watching the sky change color over the river. It is not a rush-hour tourist boat ride. We know the quiet spots where you can actually hear the water and see the local birdlife. It is perfect for those who want a weekend reset without the heavy trekking load.
Andaman Island Hopping
Our Andaman expeditions are our most popular long-duration trips. We do not just land at the airport and head to a resort. We visit historic sites like the ruins on Ross Island, where the forest has reclaimed the old British buildings, giving it an eerie yet peaceful atmosphere. We focus on Havelock and Neil Island, spending time on beaches that feel private and secluded.
For those interested in the water, we organize scuba diving sessions. We make sure you go with certified operators who prioritize safety. The water clarity in Neil Island allows for incredible visibility, and our team is there to help first-timers feel comfortable in the water.
Like all our trips, we keep the group environment friendly. You might come as a stranger, but by the second evening of island hopping, you will be part of the crew.
