About The Crowd Connection
A lot of DJs stick to a rigid playlist, but I believe the music should breathe with the room. I do not just mix tracks, I read the energy and adjust on the fly, using the mic to hype up the crowd and shifting genres—from Bollytech to hip hop—to keep the dance floor packed and the momentum alive.
The Crowd Connection is the core of the #partywithmonk experience. My approach is simple: I watch the floor, feel the heartbeat of the crowd, and build the soundscape from there. If the energy dips, I am on the mic to bring it back up. If the room is vibing, I lean into the groove.
How I Build the Vibe
- Genre Fluidity: I don't limit myself to one sound. I blend Bollywood bangers, Punjabi hits, trap, and future rave. The goal is to keep everyone moving, whether it is a college fest or a corporate social.
- Interactive MCing: My job does not stop at the console. I use the mic to bridge the gap between me and the audience, engaging even the shyest guests to get them singing and dancing.
- Technical Versatility: I work with whatever setup the venue provides, from industry-standard Pioneer CDJs at big clubs to portable controllers for house parties, ensuring crisp sound everywhere.
Where I Play
From popular Bangalore hotspots like Flo Church Street and Ginza to private house parties, I adapt my gear and my setlist to the space. If you are hosting a sangeet and need a mix of traditional folk fusion and high-energy after-party tracks, I have done that.
