Family Maternity Photography
Your maternity shoot is a celebration of your growing family. From partners and older children to your beloved pets, I focus on capturing the real connection and joy of everyone who means home to you.
A heartwarming family portrait with their first child. I focus on capturing the natural interactions and joy as your family prepares to welcome a new member.
A joyful studio moment between a mother and her son. His happy laugh while hugging the baby bump is a precious memory that I love to capture for growing families.
A relaxed family portrait on a set of park stairs. Including older children in the maternity shoot is a wonderful way to make them feel part of the special journey.
Don't forget your fur babies. This couple brought their German Shepherd to the studio shoot, and it resulted in a wonderful family portrait that includes their loyal companion.
A maternity shoot can also be a celebration with your support system. Here, the mom-to-be is surrounded by her smiling sisters or friends, sharing in her happiness.
About Family, Friends & Fur Babies
Including your loved ones, whether partners, children, or furry friends, changes the dynamic of a maternity shoot completely. I do not demand perfect, stiff poses. If your toddler wants to run around or your dog wants to be in every frame, I work with that energy to get honest, laughing smiles that you will actually recognize as your own family.
Making Room for Everyone
A maternity shoot is not just about the bump. It is about the people standing beside you. I have found that the best photos happen when the whole family is involved. Whether you want to capture the excitement of an older sibling anticipating a new baby brother or sister, or you want to include your dog in the portraits, I am ready to handle the chaos.
Practical Tips for Family Sessions
- Kids & Toddlers: Kids get restless quickly. My sessions are flexible. We start with the family portraits first while they have energy, then let them play while I focus on some solo shots for you.
- Pets: If your pet is part of the family, they are welcome. Just let me know beforehand so we can choose a location where they will be comfortable, such as an open park, rather than a restricted studio.
- Wardrobe: For family shoots, focus on coordinating colors rather than matching outfits. Pick three base colors and stick to them for everyone to ensure the photos look clean and professional.
Location & Planning
Depending on the family size, we can choose between:
- Outdoor Parks: Great for active children or large dogs. You get more space and a relaxed backdrop. Note that you will need to cover the entry permits.
- Studio: Best for smaller groups or if you want controlled lighting and a specific set background.
Packages
If you are planning to include extended family, friends, or multiple outfit changes, I recommend the Heirloom Package. It allows for a relaxed 5-6 hour pace, ensuring we have plenty of time to get everyone smiling and comfortable in front of the camera.
