Meet the riders who pedal through Bengaluru’s dawn. Our Spoke Talk series captures the raw, honest stories of what keeps our community moving, one pedal stroke at a time.

Welcome to 'Spoke Talk 2024' by Team BCC. We are thrilled to bring you inspiring conversations with our achievers from April, May, and June.

In this Spoke Talk, Raghavendra Bysani shares how the Jog 1000 KM BRM was a dream come true, made possible by the motivation and tips from the BCC team.

Shashank Hunsur talks about his journey into regular endurance cycling, his dream of taking up triathlon, and the motivation he gets from his cycling buddies.

Mohan J shares his experience of completing his first 300km BRM, thanking the Team BCC riders for inspiring and motivating him to achieve this milestone.

Eswar Sai T S talks about his journey from finding 50kms a big deal to completing his first 100kms ride, thanks to the support and motivation from fellow riders.

Vijay Krishna Shenoy shares his belief in having a growth mindset, staying disciplined, and enjoying the process of cycling with buddies for company and motivation.

Chanakya Chowdhari, a new rider, shares how he was inspired to join the club and decided to become an achiever after seeing so many champions every day.

Rohit Mishra shares his motivation for completing 10,000 kms. For him, the goal is to enjoy cycling irrespective of distance and to build mental and physical resilience.

Subhayan Das, on completing 30,000 kms, shares his philosophy: "little drops make an ocean." He ensures he cycles whenever he finds time, even if it's a meager 10 or 20 kms.

Mohammed Shajreel, on completing 10,000 kms, says our active cycling community itself is a big motivation that pushes members to achieve remarkable milestones.

About Spoke Talk: Rider Spotlights

You will notice these spotlights are not about expensive carbon bikes or chasing podiums. They are about the real logistics of balancing a 9-to-5 job, family time, and the discipline needed to hit a century ride. If you are wondering how our riders actually fit a 200-day consistency challenge into a hectic Bengaluru work week, these stories have the answer. It is less about cycling talent and more about the small, daily schedule tweaks that get you on the saddle.

Why We Share Our Stories

At Bengaluru Cycling Club, we believe that the most powerful motivator is not a medal or a Strava segment, but a real conversation. Our 'Spoke Talk' series is where we drop the pretense and get into the nitty-gritty of what it takes to be a cyclist in a busy metro city.

What You Will Find Here

  • Real Mentorship, Not Theory: Our members talk about how they overcame their first 50km, how they deal with knee pain, and how they handle the dreaded 'bonk' on long rides. It is peer-to-peer advice from people who have actually been there.
  • Balancing Life and Rides: Many of our achievers are doctors, police officers, and professionals. They share their unique hacks for squeezing in early morning rides before the city wakes up or how they negotiate with their families to get that weekend spin in.
  • The BCC Culture: You will read about 'namma hudgiyara taakattu' (our women's strength) and how our riders supported each other through 1200km brevets. We highlight these moments because we want you to know that there is a spot for you here, regardless of whether you are a beginner or a randonneur.

How to Get Started

Read through the spotlights to see who you resonate with. Most of our members started exactly where you are—looking for a reason to get the bike out of the garage. If you see a story that clicks, reach out. We are always looking to grow the family and help someone else find the joy of riding. Enjoy madi!
