Rhythm for a Cause: Our Social Initiatives
We believe the djembe has no borders. We partner with NGOs, schools, and community groups to share the therapeutic power of rhythm, ensuring everyone feels the joy of community drumming.
We have so much love for the Robin Hood Army. We had the opportunity to lead a drum circle for a group of 120 visually impaired persons, or VIPs as they call them. The energy and rhythm in the room were truly inspiring.
A heartfelt thank you to the selfless volunteers at the Robin Hood Army for having us. It's an honor to support their mission to serve the community.
Another view of our session with the Robin Hood Army. The circle format creates a space of equality and shared experience.

A wide shot of the large circle we created. It was a memorable day filled with groovy rhythms and pure joy.
The focus and connection in this room were incredible. Drumming together is a powerful tool for building community.
We drummed with a huge group of amazing souls from the Robin Hood Army as part of their All India Summit. It was an honor to share our passion for rhythm with people who give so much back to society.
We are grateful to spread the therapeutic power of group drumming through our Art Talks module at Aniket Sevabhavi Sanstha, a school for differently abled children and adults. We use rhythm to work on behavioral goals like attention span and motor coordination.
This was a truly inclusive community drum circle, with participation from 'Social Adda', a group for children with special needs. It was a beautiful reminder that rhythm unites us all, and we are more similar than we are different.
We had a wonderful time with the kids in Ahwalwadi, teaching them the djembe and singing the happy rhythm of 'Moribayassa'. The session was full of smiles, cheerfulness, and the beautiful sound of drums.
About Rhythm for a Cause: Our Social Initiatives
When we lead a drum circle for a social cause, we are not just playing beats. Whether we are working with visually impaired participants or differently-abled children, our goal is non-verbal communication. We use rhythm as a tool to build attention spans, encourage social interaction, and provide a safe, rhythmic space for catharsis that goes far beyond traditional talking therapies.
Our social initiatives are the heartbeat of Taal Inc. My guru, Mamady Keïta, taught us that the djembe knows no borders, and we take that to heart. We do not look at these as performances; we treat them as healing spaces.
Through our 'Art Talks' module, we partner with organizations like Aniket Sevabhavi Sanstha to support specific behavioral goals. We use drumming to work on motor coordination, focus, and emotional expression. It is pure, raw connection. It is about remembering that we are more similar than we are different.
If you represent an NGO, a school, or a community organization and want to bring this energy to your members, get in touch. We adapt our facilitations for varied abilities, ensuring everyone leaves feeling heard and connected. Whether it is a junk percussion session using buckets and pipes or a traditional djembe circle, we handle the logistics of transport, instrument setup, and facilitation. Let us bring the 'Wassa Wassa' (Happy Happy) energy to your next community event.
