About this collection
Shooting with a senior pet or a rescue isn't about perfect poses; it’s about patience. Whether your companion is finding their confidence after a hard start or settling into their golden years, I move entirely at their pace. We dedicate time to let them sniff, rest, and just exist, capturing the subtle looks and slow, meaningful movements that define who they are right now.
Many people ask if their pet is too old or too shy for a photoshoot. The answer is always no. In fact, these are often the most rewarding sessions I do. When photographing senior dogs, we skip the high-energy demands. Instead, we focus on the quiet grace of their later years—those gentle gazes and the way they lean into you for support. It’s about documenting the legacy of the life you’ve built together.
For rescue dogs, the approach is centered on safety and trust. I know that for many rescues, the world can feel overwhelming. I do not use studios or bright, flashing lights. I come to your home or a quiet park where they feel safe, and I wait. We might spend the first thirty minutes just sitting together so they understand I am a friend. I use soft sounds and treats to engage them only when they are ready. Whether it is celebrating a fresh start after adoption or a final tribute to a long-time friend, my goal is to document the character and history written in their eyes and fur. You don't need to prepare your pet for this; you just need to bring their favorite treats and their comfortable self. We will handle the rest.
