My philosophy for traditional South Indian weddings is simple: honour the heritage of your Kanjeevaram and temple jewellery with a fresh, radiant makeup look that lets you be yourself.

This is my signature 'minimal magic' style. For my beautiful South Indian bride Kirthana, we created a soft, glowing look that felt fresh, timeless, and completely her.

My bride Kirthana looked like a dream. We chose a soft matte base with a golden glow, warm nude gold eyes, and a muted rose lip to create a classic and graceful look.

When a bride asks for radiance, I deliver radiance. This is the unfiltered, natural glow I strive for with every South Indian bridal look, ensuring the skin looks fresh and luminous.

About South Indian Bridal Elegance

Traditional South Indian weddings involve long ceremonies, so I start with a deep skin prep routine using high-end emollients like Charlotte Tilbury Magic Cream. This ensures your base stays breathable and glowing, even under the heat of the mandap lights. We balance the heavy gold temple jewellery with soft, defined eyes and a lip shade that complements your Kanjeevaram saree, keeping the overall look elegant rather than heavy.

When you are in the middle of a shadi ka ghar, the last thing you need is a stressful getting-ready session. My approach to South Indian bridal makeup is all about maintaining that perfect balance between the richness of traditional attire and a modern, radiant finish.

The Process

Before I even touch a brush, we sit down to discuss your Kanjeevaram saree colours and the specific weight of your temple jewellery. My kit is stocked with trusted brands like Dior, NARS, and Huda Beauty, ensuring that the base is sweat-resistant and holds up throughout the rituals. I focus on 'minimal magic,' meaning I enhance your natural features rather than covering them with heavy layers. Your skin will look and feel like skin, just brighter and more polished.

Hair and Draping

Your look is incomplete without the traditional finishing touches. I collaborate closely with hairstylists who are experts in creating the perfect Poola Jada or setting heavy jasmine gajra so it stays secure from the first ceremony to the last. For saree draping, we focus on neat, precise pleating that allows you to move comfortably, whether you are walking around the fire or greeting guests on stage.

Handling The Heat

Traditional South Indian ceremonies often involve bright lights and high-temperature environments. I use long-wear setting sprays and powder techniques to lock everything in place without it feeling cakey. If you have a specific vision for your eyes, whether it is a classic bronze shimmer or a subtle cut-crease to match your traditional aesthetic, I adapt my technique to suit your comfort level. My goal is for you to look in the mirror and feel exactly like yourself, only more confident.
