Black and White Maternity Portraits
Stripping away the color lets us focus on the shape, the light, and the raw emotion of your pregnancy journey. These monochrome portraits are about capturing the person, not just the outfit.

A contemporary black and white portrait showing off the bare bump. This casual yet beautiful shot in jeans and a crop top celebrates the natural beauty of pregnancy in a modern way.
About Timeless Black & White Portraits
We shoot these in our Defence Colony studio where we have full control over the light, which is crucial for high-contrast monochrome work. Because there is no color to distract the eye, we focus entirely on posing and the silhouette of your bump to create a timeless look.
Why We Choose Monochrome
There is a certain honesty in black and white photography that color sometimes hides. When we shoot in black and white, we aren't just removing the color palette. We are looking at light, texture, and form. It allows us to play with dramatic shadows and highlights, turning a maternity portrait into a study of lines and shapes.
Our Process
For these sessions, we work in our studio in Defence Colony. We use controlled lighting setups to ensure the contrast is sharp and the grain is smooth. This style works exceptionally well for classic, fine-art maternity photos that feel like art pieces rather than snapshots.
We typically guide your poses to accentuate the silhouette of your bump. Whether you prefer a dramatic, moody aesthetic or something softer with subtle gradients, we adjust our lighting on the spot.
Preparing for Your Shoot
Since these photos rely heavily on form, we often recommend wearing fitted or simple outfits. We have a variety of gowns in our studio that work well for this, but we are also happy to shoot with your own clothes if they are simple and textured. Our goal is to create images that feel as relevant and elegant ten years from now as they do today.
If you are interested in a black and white maternity photoshoot, let us know your approximate due date so we can schedule the session while you are feeling your most radiant.
