Festive & Traditional Glam Makeup in Mumbai
From Navratri and Ganesh Chaturthi to family pujas, I create authentic festive looks that are sweat-proof and vibrant. Whether you need a traditional bun with gajra or precise saree draping, I ensure you stay comfortable and photo-ready through every celebration.
A beautiful look created for Bengali New Year. I styled actress Megha Chakraborty in a traditional red and white saree, with soft makeup focusing on a radiant smile and bright red lip, complemented by a half updo hairstyle.
Another shot of the Bengali New Year look. The classic red bindi, statement jewelry, and the elegant drape of the saree are all key elements that I ensure are perfect for an authentic traditional appearance.
A close up of the makeup for the Bengali New Year shoot. I used a soft brown eyeshadow to define the eyes and a vibrant magenta lipstick to match the festive mood, keeping the skin looking fresh and natural.
This full-length view showcases the complete traditional Bengali look. The combination of the designer saree, intricate jewelry, and my makeup and hair work creates a truly graceful and celebratory style.
A happy and candid moment from the Bengali New Year shoot. The makeup is designed to look beautiful from every angle, ensuring you feel confident and look your best throughout your celebration.
For Ganesh Chaturthi, I created this elegant and prayerful look for actress Isha Singh. She is styled in a simple white saree with a colorful border, and I kept the makeup minimal and dewy to match the serene and spiritual occasion.
Here I provided makeup and hairstyling for a group of performers for a Ganesh Chaturthi dance video. The look was uniform, clean, and traditional to suit their all white outfits and the devotional theme of the performance.
This is a classic Karva Chauth makeup look. I created a flawless base with winged eyeliner, a bold red lip, and a traditional hair bun adorned with a red flower. This look is all about celebrating tradition with glamour.
A soft and dewy makeup look perfect for any festive occasion. I created this "Gulabi Saree" inspired look with rosy cheeks, glowing skin, and a soft pink lip, paired with a traditional Maharashtrian hairstyle.
This Navratri makeup look is all about the eyes and traditional details. I used warm eyeshadow tones, a small bindi, and tiny dots on the chin, which is a classic Garba style, paired with oxidized silver jewelry.
About Festive & Traditional Glam
My festive makeup is specifically designed to handle Mumbai's heat and humidity. I use a sweat-resistant base that stays fresh for long hours of dancing or rituals, and I pay close attention to the details that matter—like securing your gajra and pins so your hair doesn't fall flat, and draping your saree so it stays in place all day without feeling restrictive.
Festivals in Mumbai require a specific kind of makeup. You need something that looks traditional and polished in family photos, but is hardy enough to survive hours of humidity and movement.
My process starts by understanding the specific event. Whether it is a Bengali New Year celebration where you need that classic red lip and sharp winged eyeliner, or a Navratri Garba night where you need your skin to stay matte while you dance, I use professional products like MAC and Kryolan to lock the look in place.
The Complete Festive Package
- Hairstyling: I handle everything from traditional Juda buns with fresh gajra to clean, polished hair that won't move when you do.
- Saree Draping: If you are wearing a Nauvari or a heavy Gujarati drape, leave the safety pins and pleat-setting to me. I make sure your outfit is secure and comfortable.
- Quick Turnaround: I know these events are busy. I pride myself on being 'fatafat' (quick) with my applications, so you can spend your time with family rather than in the makeup chair.
My Approach to Traditional Looks
- For Pujas: I focus on subtle, dewy skin and defined eyes to create an elegant, graceful appearance.
- For Garba/Dance: I use sweat-proof setting sprays and primers to ensure your makeup does not budge, no matter how much you dance.
- For Men: I offer clean, natural grooming, focusing on concealing blemishes and evening out skin tone for a sharp, polished look under festival lights.
If you have a specific reference photo for your festival look, share it with me. I can adapt any style to suit your features.
