The Science of Makeup: Theory & Product Knowledge
Anyone can pick up a brush, but understanding the chemistry—skin undertones, color theory, and product types—is what separates a pro from an amateur. This is where I teach you how to build a base that lasts.

About this collection
I teach students how to stop guessing their shades. If you have ever struggled with foundation oxidizing or looking ashy, it is usually because of poor skin prep or misidentified undertones. In my classes, we use the color wheel not just for art, but to neutralize imperfections and match skin tones correctly every single time.
Beyond the Surface: Why Theory Matters
Many students come to me wanting to learn only the 'glam' looks. But the truth is, if you do not understand the science of your products, you are just layering paint on a canvas without understanding the material.
The Foundation of a Flawless Base
We start with CTMP—Cleansing, Toning, Moisturizing, and Priming. You cannot get a professional finish if your skin prep is weak. I teach you how to analyze skin types—oily, dry, or combination—and choose the right products that won't clog pores or cause flashback in photos. We break down the difference between sheer, medium, and full coverage, and when to use silicone-based versus water-based formulas.
Mastering Color Theory
Understanding the color wheel is non-negotiable in my academy. We cover:
- Undertones: Identifying whether a client is cool, warm, or neutral by checking veins and reaction to sunlight.
- Color Correction: Using the wheel to neutralize dark circles, pigmentation, or redness before the foundation even touches the skin.
- Mixing: Learning how to tint, tone, and shade your products to create custom lip colors or adjust a foundation that isn't quite the right match.
Why It Lasts
My teaching focuses on technique. How you blend, the order in which you apply setting powder, and the specific brush or sponge you use for different textures matters. Whether you are working on a bridal look that needs to survive a 12-hour event or a creative party look, it starts with understanding the chemistry of your kit.
