Flawless makeup starts with perfect skin prep. This is the first and most crucial step for a smooth, long lasting application, and we teach our students to master it for every client.
Step 1: Cleanse. Always start by washing away dirt, oil, and impurities with a gentle cleanser. This creates a fresh, clean base that is essential for smooth makeup application.
Step 2: Exfoliate. Gently buffing away dead skin cells with a mild exfoliator creates a smoother skin texture and allows for better absorption of subsequent skincare and makeup products.
Step 3: Tone. Using a toner helps to hydrate, balance the skin's pH, and prepare it for better absorption of moisturizers and primers, contributing to a smooth finish.
Step 4: Moisturize. Locking in hydration with a moisturizer suited to the client's skin type is critical. Hydrated skin equals a flawless foundation application.
Step 5: Prime. Choosing the right primer, whether hydrating, mattifying, or blurring, is the final step to ensuring makeup stays fresh and flawless all day long.
