About this collection
You might assume heavy-looking gold jewellery is uncomfortable to wear, but my filigree work is designed to feel feathery light. I weave the gold strands just like fine fabric, which means even my statement cuffs or large danglers won't drag you down during a long event. When you come in for an appointment, I always encourage you to try them on because you will immediately feel the difference compared to solid, cast gold pieces.
My obsession with filigree started from a desire to strip away the rigidity of traditional gold jewellery. I use an intricate technique I call 'Venetian Lace' or filigree, where 18k yellow or rose gold is drawn into fine wire and woven to mimic the organic texture of mesh or lace fabric. This requires immense precision, as every loop and bird motif is shaped by hand in my home studio.
Why Choose Filigree?
Unlike standard mass-produced jewellery, these pieces offer a unique combination of volume and weightlessness. Because the structure is openwork, you get a larger, bolder silhouette—like my lace-like chokers or cherry blossom hoops—without the bulk.
Customization and Artistry
- Gold Specifications: Every piece uses 18k gold, ranging from 8g for delicate earrings to over 70g for complex, rigid statement chokers.
- Gemstone Integration: I often accent these lace-like gold structures with diamonds (VVS/VS clarity) or sugarloaf emeralds and rubies to add depth and color.
- Bespoke Process: Since I work by appointment only, we can discuss the specific density and coverage you want. Whether you need a subtle, everyday hoop that catches the light or a bridal-grade collar that mimics the patterns of your outfit, we sketch it together.
This approach ensures that your jewellery isn't just an accessory, but a piece of gold fabric designed specifically for your frame. If you are looking for something that blends the old-school elegance of lace with the permanence of 18k gold, let’s sit down and sketch your next heirloom.
Shachee Fine Jewellery
I’m Shachee. My studio is where I take the rigid structure of 18k gold and coax it into something as soft and airy as lace. I pour my love for nature and travel into every piece, hoping they become heirlooms you’ll cherish long after the first wear.
