I believe every creature has a story to tell. My photography focuses on capturing the quiet confidence of India's wildlife in their natural habitat, from the grasslands of Rajasthan to the forests of Jim Corbett.

A close-up portrait of a male Blackbuck, its mouth slightly open as if caught mid-chew. The intense lighting against a dark background highlights the texture of its coat and the magnificent, twisted horns.

A portrait of a young Blackbuck with one fully grown horn and one just beginning to grow. This image captures a stage of youthful development and curiosity in the wild.

A Nilgai, or Blue Bull, contorts itself to scratch an itch in a grassy field. This candid shot captures a common, relatable behavior and shows the animal's flexibility and power.

A female Nilgai stands watch while a male reaches up to browse leaves from a tree. This photograph documents the feeding habits and social structure of Asia's largest antelope.

A female Nilgai looks directly into the lens while a male stands in the background. This composition creates a sense of depth and captures a moment of quiet awareness in the wild.

An Asian Elephant partially hidden by lush green foliage in Jim Corbett National Park. The image conveys a sense of scale and the feeling of spotting this gentle giant in its dense forest home.

A video compilation showing Nilgai antelopes in their natural habitat. The clips include scenes of them grazing, interacting, and moving through the tall grasses.

About Wildlife Encounters

When I am out in the field, I do not just look for a frame. I wait for the animal to stop performing for the crowd and just be itself. Whether it is a Blackbuck in the tall grass or an elephant moving through the foliage, my goal is to capture the mood, the lighting, and the raw character of the subject rather than just a sharp image.

Wildlife photography requires a blend of technical patience and an understanding of the terrain. I shoot primarily with my Canon EOS 80D, relying on natural light to bring out the textures in a coat or the intensity in an eye. I avoid artificial studio setups. Instead, I chase the golden hour, finding the moments where the environment adds to the narrative of the animal.

I have spent countless hours tracking species across India. In Jim Corbett, the focus is often on the scale and the environment, capturing elephants partially hidden by the greens. In Rajasthan, the grasslands become a stage for the Blackbuck and Nilgai. These are not static portraits. They are moments of interaction, feeding, and observation.

If you are looking to document your own expedition or want to learn how to spot and shoot wildlife, I offer field mentorship sessions in NCR biodiversity parks and full-day outstation coverage. We can focus on mastering your manual settings or simply documenting your journey through the wild. You get raw, candid images that carry the atmosphere of the forest.

I'm Santosh. My home is in Gurugram, but my heart is usually out in the wild with a camera. Whether I'm tracking birds in the Aravalis or elephants in Corbett, I am always hunting for that one quiet moment that tells a bigger story.
