How We Build It
- Space Assessment: Every wall is different. I check your surface to ensure it can support the weight of the modules and the plants once they are watered.
- Plant Selection: I select hardy varieties, like Philodendrons or Scindapsus, that thrive in vertical pockets and can handle the specific light conditions of your home or office.
- Irrigation Setup: For larger bio-walls, I include a drip irrigation system to ensure even water distribution. This prevents the common issue of bottom plants drying out while top plants drown.
Maintenance Matters
Plants in a vertical wall have a different hydration cycle than those in pots. To keep your wall thriving, I provide specialized care including:
- Module Pruning: Removing yellow leaves to stop fungal spread.
- Foliar Feeding: Spraying liquid fertilizers directly onto the leaves to provide nutrients since the soil volume is small.
- Timer Calibration: We adjust the irrigation timers as the seasons change in Bengaluru, ensuring your wall gets exactly what it needs during summer and the monsoon.
