Musings on Love & Life
A collection of my thoughts, handwritten and typed, exploring the messy, beautiful reality of love. These pieces are meant to be felt, not just read.
A short verse I wrote for a friend, inspired by the idea of a love that exists in the space between birth and death. It reminds me of Rumi's field, a place beyond judgment where souls can meet.
A question about vulnerability and trust. "If I show you my naked soul, will you dress it up with your love?" It's an invitation to see and accept the truest, most unabridged version of someone.
A reflection on the power of a kiss. Is it an end or a beginning? I often think about the last kiss, the one that lingers in memory, and wonder about its finality.
A poem about feeling lost and the patience it requires to wait for 'found' to arrive. It's a reminder that it is okay to sit with melancholy for a while, to be a guest in your own heart's estate until you are ready to explore again.
A poem about the power that love holds over us. To love is to be vulnerable, to hold a rose full of thorns and bleed persistently. Yet, in that vulnerability, there is immense strength.
A simple, hopeful thought. The rainbow is the inner beauty of light, and I believe that same spectrum of beauty exists within each of us.
My feelings about the start of a new year, described as a nervous excitement that starts in the belly and makes the heart tremble. It's the feeling of a fresh start, a cool summer breeze on your soul.
A poem about finding peace, love, and kindness in the silence of your own heart. It is in the quiet moments, away from the noise of desire, that we can hear our own truth.
A short piece about the purpose of light in the face of darkness. The lamp burns gracefully not for itself, but to shine the light of love for others to see.
A poetic prose about the feeling of absence and the light-headedness that follows when a baked embrace dissolves from your vision. It's about the lingering warmth and the sudden cool.
About Musings on Love & Life
Every poem you see here started on my vintage typewriter or a simple sheet of paper, typed until the ink bled just enough to feel real. These are not just lines of text; they are pieces of my 'pyaar ki chitthi' philosophy, intended to help you find your own words when you feel stuck or overflowing with emotion.
I believe that art should feed souls, not machines. Whether it is a quick verse typed on a whim at Cubbon Park or a deeply personal letter I write for your loved one, my focus is always on the raw, unfiltered truth of the moment.
Why I Write
My writing explores the many faces of love, from romance and self-love to the courage to simply feel everything. I find that we often forget to slow down, so I use my words to capture the quiet joy of running warm blood, the pain of letting go, and the hope of new beginnings.
My Approach
- The Typewriter Experience: I carry my typewriter to events and parks because the physical act of keys striking paper creates something permanent. It invites you to talk, and for me to listen, before I write something real for you.
- Handwritten 'Love Posted' Letters: I send out monthly packages because I want words to land in your mailbox, not your inbox. Each letter is a 'pyaar ki chitthi', packed with poems, postcards, and small surprises meant to make you pause.
- Workshops: If you have messy feelings and don't know where to put them, I hold space for you to turn them into art. No experience is needed, just a willingness to be honest.
If you find yourself connecting with these pieces, you are welcome to reach out. Whether you need a poem for a partner, a handwritten letter for a friend, or help expressing your own story, I am here to write it with you. XOXO, RN💋
