Small styling tweaks can transform your silhouette. Here are my practical rules for accessories, footwear, and colors that help you look balanced every day.

Stop wearing white under everything, especially white shirts. I explain why a beige innerwear works best for a discreet look under formal shirts, and when you might want to match your inner to your top for sheer fabrics.

A clear visual comparison of wearing a white versus a beige inner under a white shirt. You can see how the beige option creates no visible lines, resulting in a much cleaner look.

How to wear flats and still look tall. I share three simple tricks: go for nude tones, choose pointed toes, and match your flats to your bottom color to create a clean, vertical line.

What is the correct footwear to wear with wide-leg pants for petite women? This video compares sneakers with heeled sandals, showing how the right shoe can make a big difference in your overall proportion.

Three features to avoid in footwear if you have short height. I explain why you should skip bulky styles, avoid very square or round toes, and pay attention to the vamp of the shoe to create the illusion of longer legs.

A common styling mistake is pairing booties with midi skirts, as it can cut off your height. I show how to correct this by wearing stockings in the same color to create a seamless look.

My dos and don'ts of boots for women with short height. I explain why ankle-high boots are better than booties and how matching your boots to your pants can make your legs appear longer.

Busting the myth that your shoes and bag should always match. I show two outfits where the accessories don't match, proving that focusing on balance is more important than creating a perfect pair.

Another take on the outdated fashion rule of matching your bag and footwear. While it can create a polished look for formal wear, it's not a necessity for casual outfits.

Here are my dos and don'ts of wearing scarves based on your body shape. I provide specific tips for short necks, petite frames, and women who are heavy on top to ensure the scarf is flattering.

About Mastering the Details

Most of us dress based on what we think is safe, like wearing white innerwear under white shirts or assuming shoes must match our bags. These small, outdated habits often disrupt your silhouette or visually cut your height. I teach you the logic behind these details so you can stop guessing and start dressing with a clear, personal plan.

Style is not just about what you wear, but how you put it together. Mastering the details is where you move from having a full closet to having a functional one. Here is how I approach the small stuff.

Why Details Matter

Your accessories and footwear act as the punctuation marks of your outfit. If they don't align with your body structure, they can unintentionally draw attention to the wrong areas or break your frame.

Footwear & Leg Lines

  • The Petite Hack: If you want to appear taller, stop reaching for bulky, square-toed shoes. Pointed or almond-shaped toes extend your foot line.
  • The Nude Rule: Nude tones that match your skin shade create a seamless, vertical line. When you wear contrasting flats with long pants, you essentially chop your legs in half.
  • The Boot Mistake: Avoid booties with skirts. If you love the look, pair them with stockings in the same color to bridge the gap and keep the line continuous.

The Color & Innerwear Logic

  • Innerwear: Stop wearing white under white. It highlights lines. Beige is your best friend because it mimics your skin tone and stays invisible under formal shirts.
  • Color Buffering: If a color like bright orange doesn't suit your skin tone, you don't have to banish it. Use the color buffer trick. Layer it under a jacket that does suit you, or wear it as a print paired with a neutral anchor. This keeps the unflattering color away from your face while letting you wear the pieces you love.

My Philosophy

I believe in teaching you the 'why' so you can make these decisions on your own. Once you understand fabric, proportion, and color balance, you don't need a stylist to get dressed in the morning. It becomes a skill you use for life.
