Beyond the cards. My thoughts on tarot history, monthly collective guidance, and the psychology behind the practice.

Here is my collective reading for the month of June. The theme was chaos versus balance, teaching us that sometimes the best action is to physically step away and let the universe work its way. Not every trauma needs to be actively healed.

My collective reading for July focused on relationships and seeing people's true colors. The guidance was to play it dumb, withdraw your energy quietly, and realize you are better off thriving alone than with people who are not honest.

For the month of August, the energy was about knowledge bringing stability. The cards urged us not to be afraid of being a novice. Everybody starts somewhere, and this month was about pushing your boundaries to learn and grow.

On World Tarot Day, my first lesson is always this: Pamela Colman Smith, the illustrator of the Smith-Waite deck, deserves more than a footnote. What we see as Tarot today is because of her ability, talent, and nerve.

Pamela Colman Smith was an incredible artist, a member of the Golden Dawn, and an advocate for women's rights. Despite her immense contribution, she was overshadowed, received no credit, and died broke. We honor her by calling the deck the "Smith-Waite" deck.

About Additional Musings & Insights

Stop looking for a weekend fix. If you are checking out my collective readings or my posts on Pamela Colman Smith, you will see I do not offer quick energy boosts. I tell you to withdraw, observe, and do the work, even when it feels like absolute shit. If you want a reader who will call out your ego instead of validating it, let us talk.

Tarot as a Psychological Tool

I treat Tarot as a language, not a party trick. When I post my monthly collective readings, I am not giving you a prediction about when your ex will text back. I am breaking down the archetypes at play so you can understand your own behavioral patterns. Whether it is the chaos of the Five of Wands or the stability of the Ten of Pentacles, we look at how these energies are manifesting in your daily life.

Why We Honor Pamela Colman Smith

If you see my posts about Pamela Colman Smith, know that this is non-negotiable for me. Modern Tarot exists because of her ability and nerve, yet she died in obscurity. As a Tarot scholar, I believe in giving credit where it is due. We do not use the term 'Rider-Waite' here because it erases her contribution. We use 'Smith-Waite' to acknowledge the artist who actually drew the symbols that guide our intuition.

The 'Withdrawal' Approach

In my readings and my philosophy, I often talk about 'withdrawal energy.' This is not about being petty or playing games. It is about recognizing when your environment is draining you and deciding that you are worth more than the chaos you are currently entertaining. My content is here to help you move from being a passenger in your own life to someone who actively identifies their blockages. If you are ready to stop being 'complacent' and start being honest with yourself, browse my workshops or book a personal session.
