I love showing you how your stationery goes from a simple sketch to a finished keepsake. Here is a look at the hands-on magic that happens in my studio.

Happy 5th birthday to Quill on Paper. What started as a hobby has become my identity. I'm so grateful for every client and brand who has been a part of my story and allowed me to create magic since 2020.

From Procreate to paper. A lot of my work starts with digital calligraphy on my iPad. This allows me to perfect the layout, flourishes, and style before moving to the final physical medium.

Let's add the finishing touches to this handwritten flat scroll. This video shows the process of adding a name tag written in copperplate calligraphy and sealing the scroll with a custom wax stamp.

I'm always in the mood to write letters. This video shows a glimpse of my process, from writing in copperplate calligraphy to creating a beautiful birthday scroll box filled with dried flowers.

Sunday dreaming. Sending out these gorgeous classic gold on white handwritten letters. The mandate was minimal and classy, and I'm so happy with how the textured paper, gold ink, and feather wax seal came together.

A quick montage of my happy place: creating wedding invites, writing letters on handmade paper, gift wrapping with dried flowers, and doing on-site engraving. This is what I love to do.

About this collection

A lot of my work actually starts on my iPad. I spend time perfecting the layout and flourishes digitally before I ever pick up a pen. This hybrid approach lets me show you a mockup first, ensuring the final piece, whether it is a handwritten scroll or an invitation suite, is exactly what you envisioned before I start the manual inking process.

While the final product is often a classic, hand-lettered piece on cotton paper, the journey to get there is a mix of modern and traditional techniques.

The Digital Foundation

I start almost every project on my tablet. This allows for precision, letting me test different layouts and flourishing styles without wasting expensive, handmade paper. Once we finalize the look, I translate these digital guides into physical strokes using my dip pens and nibs.

The Calligraphy Phase

This is where the 'marakkuma nenjam'—that moment the heart remembers—comes in. I use archival-quality inks, such as walnut or metallic gold, to write directly onto your chosen surface. Whether it is 100% cotton rag paper, vellum, or heavy textured cardstock, every letter is formed by hand. I avoid standard fonts to ensure that the character of the writing remains unique to the piece.

Finishing Details

Assembly is just as vital as the calligraphy itself. I hand-tear the deckled edges of the paper, mix custom wax for the seals, and often incorporate natural elements like dried florals. This step turns a simple note into a keepsake.

If you are interested in a specific style, like Copperplate or a more modern script, let me know. I can adapt the tools and nibs I use to match the theme of your event or the mood of your gift. It is a slow, intentional process, but it ensures that what you receive feels like a piece of my heart, not just a product.

I'm Lipika, and I've spent the last five years turning everyday stationery into memories. When I'm not sketching on my iPad, you'll find me at my desk with a dip pen and gold ink, adding those little handwritten flourishes that make your event stationery stand out.
