Creative Pre-Wedding Photography Styles
From moody, high-fashion editorials to candid, joyful moments, this collection shows the variety of stories I have captured. Each session is built to match the unique vibe you two share.
A high-contrast, moody reel of a couple dressed in black, creating a chic and modern pre-wedding look.
A royal and elegant pre-wedding film shot in a grand, historic house in Goa with stunning chandeliers.
A romantic portrait of a couple framed by beautiful white flowers, creating a soft and dreamy pre-wedding photo.
A diptych showing both a wide and a close-up shot of the couple, capturing their intimacy.
A collage of candid and laughing moments, showing the genuine joy and connection between the couple.
A film-strip edit of a sweet forehead kiss, perfect for a romantic announcement.
A stylish, film-noir inspired shot of the couple against a white gate, framed by dark greenery.
About this collection
I do not believe in a one-size-fits-all editing style. You might see a high-contrast, film-noir aesthetic in one set and a bright, breezy beach shoot in another because your photos should reflect your personality, not my comfort zone. When we work together, we decide on the mood first—whether that is a retro 90s feel or a modern, minimal look—and build the entire shoot around that specific vision.
Finding Your Creative Vibe
Many couples come to me with a Pinterest board full of different ideas. One day they want a rainy outdoor shoot, and the next they are dreaming of a luxury vintage setup. My approach is to take those scattered thoughts and structure them into a cohesive story. Whether we are shooting in the chaos of a Mumbai market or a quiet, heritage bungalow in Goa, the goal is always the same: authenticity.
Why Style Matters
Photography is not just about pointing a camera; it is about colour grading, lighting, and framing that matches the energy of the day.
- Moody & Cinematic: Best for indoor, historic locations where we can play with shadows, chandeliers, and high-fashion poses.
- Light & Candid: Ideal for outdoor escapes, beaches, and parks. This is where we capture the movement, the laughter, and the 'in-between' moments.
- Vintage & Retro: For the old-school souls. We use specific lens filters and colour tones to make your photos look like they were pulled from a film magazine.
My Process
I prefer to start our planning with a conversation. If you are camera-shy, we will skip the rigid posing and focus on activities—a walk, a dance, or even a coffee date. We treat the shoot as a collaboration. I bring the 11 years of experience in framing and lighting, and you bring the chemistry. Together, we make sure the final result is something you actually recognise as yours, not just another template photo from the internet.
MJay Photography
I’m MJay, and I’ve spent the last 11 years turning quiet glances into stories you will keep. My team and I are less about the stiff poses and more about the real, messy, beautiful stuff that happens when you stop thinking about the camera.
