The Art of Styling: Create a Visual Story for Your Brand
Styling isn't just about placing props; it's about building a mood that stops the scroll. Let’s create your brand's unique aesthetic together.
Here are some tips for creating festive setups for your products this Diwali. I show how to choose contrasting backgrounds and props to make your product look premium.
A DIY recipe shoot featuring an avocado hair mask. The styling with a wooden comb and marble background creates a natural, self-care aesthetic.
A beautiful shot of DIY ice cubes made with rose petals and basil. The bright, clean styling is perfect for beauty and wellness content.
A DIY coffee scrub styled on a wooden board with coffee beans. The rustic and earthy tones perfectly match the product's main ingredient.
A quick tour of some of my favorite props. This reel shows some of the plates and bowls I use to style my food photoshoots.
Another look at some of my favorite props. I believe having a good collection of glasses, bowls, and plates is essential for versatile food styling.
About The Art of Styling
Most people think styling is just filling empty space, but it is actually about creating the right contrast. We start with your core product and build outwards—choosing textures that complement the item, not compete with it. Whether we are going for a warm and rustic kitchen vibe or a crisp, modern studio look, I focus on the small details that make your brand feel human, approachable, and ready to connect.
When I style a shoot, I am thinking about how the viewer interacts with the image. It is not about perfection; it is about connection. From my Mumbai home studio, I select textures, plates, and backgrounds that tell a specific story.
We will decide the vibe together—festive, minimal, moody, or vibrant. If your product is organic, we might use wooden boards and linen; if it is tech or luxury, we go for clean, solid backgrounds. I am a huge fan of using the 'human element,' like a hand reaching for a snack or pouring a drink, because it invites the viewer in.
And remember, it is all about the 'jugaad.' I use a variety of props—vintage cutlery, textured ceramic plates, and even natural elements—to get that premium look without needing an expensive, massive studio setup. Whether you need flat lays, macro shots, or dynamic angles, we will build a cohesive look that perfectly aligns with your brand’s personality. My goal is to make sure your product looks as good on camera as it does in real life.
