About Sikh Weddings: Anand Karaj
During an Anand Karaj, lighting inside a Gurudwara can be tricky. We use specific lens settings to capture the ceremony without using harsh flash that might distract from the prayers, ensuring your photos look natural and respectful of the sanctity of the occasion.
The Anand Karaj is unlike any other wedding ceremony. It requires a photographer who understands when to be present and when to stay in the background. We have documented numerous Sikh weddings across Delhi NCR, from smaller neighborhood Gurudwaras to larger setups. Our team knows the flow of the ceremony, ensuring we capture the Laavan, the Kirtan, and the expressions of family members without ever interrupting the flow of prayer.
For video, we use gimbal stabilization for those smooth walking shots as the couple completes their circles, and full-frame DSLRs to manage the varying indoor lighting conditions of different Gurudwaras. You won't see us blocking the view of guests. We prefer to work with natural light wherever possible, only using subtle, non-intrusive equipment to light the couple during portrait sessions afterward.
Whether you are planning an intimate morning ceremony or a grand afternoon event, we provide a structured approach. We prioritize the candid emotions—the joy during the Kirtan, the nervousness before the groom's entry, and the quiet relief during the final prayers—alongside the formal stage portraits you need for your album. We aim to tell the full story of your union, preserving the traditions that matter most to your family.
