Mountainscapes and Travel Photography
Himalayan roads and thin air. I don’t just take photos; I capture the silence of the mountains. Real landscapes, raw gear, and no filters.
A solitary Buddha statue overlooking the mountains of Spiti Valley at dawn. This image captures the peaceful, spiritual feeling of the Himalayas, with the first light hitting the distant peaks.
The colors of a mountain sunset. This shot shows the snow-capped peaks set against a dramatic sky, with the dense forest below. It's about capturing the untamed beauty of nature.
About Mountainscapes & Travel
When we shoot at high altitudes, the weather dictates the schedule, not a clock. I travel with my Nikon Z6 to capture the raw, moody scale of the Himalayas during the golden hour. You need to be prepared for early mornings and biting cold, because that is the only time the peaks show their true character.
How I See the Mountains
I’m not a tourist-style photographer. Whether I’m navigating the twisty roads of Spiti Valley or finding a vantage point in the Himalayas, I’m looking for the drama in the landscape. My work is about the weight of the mountains, the scale of the valley, and the specific way light hits snow-capped peaks.
My Approach to Travel Photography
- Golden Hour is Law: Landscape photography isn't about being there; it's about being there at the right time. I schedule shoots around sunrise and sunset to get that heavy, moody aesthetic. Mid-day sun kills the texture of the rock and the depth of the valley.
- The Gear: I use the Nikon Z6. It’s light enough for long treks but gives the full-frame resolution I need for large-scale prints.
- The Reality: This isn't a studio shoot. We might be in a remote village or on the side of a mountain road. My process is simple: pack light, walk until we find the framing, and wait for the light.
Commercial & Editorial Work
I take on commercial landscape assignments for brands that want a raw, authentic look rather than the typical polished, over-edited travel shots. If you are a travel brand or a project looking to capture the real vibe of the Himalayas without the fake filters, we should talk. I deliver high-resolution files that look like the reality, not a catalog.
Note: If you are booking a location shoot, remember that I travel from my base in Agra. Spiti expeditions require lead time for planning and logistics.
