About this collection
The beauty of a gharara lies in its flow, which is why I obsess over the hemline structure. Whether we are using fluid Moonga silk or structured Banarasi, I ensure the flair has enough weight to drape perfectly without being heavy, so you can walk or dance comfortably all day.
When you come to my Hauz Khas studio, we don't just pick a size. We talk about where you are wearing the outfit, the kind of movement you need, and the fabrics that feel right on your skin.
Designing Your Perfect Set
I believe your outfit should reflect your story. Many of my clients bring me sketches, Pinterest boards, or even a specific color palette they saw at a previous event. Once we settle on a vision, I handle the technical side:
- Fabric Selection: From Moonga silk that holds a regal structure to lighter georgettes and tissues that sway with ease.
- Handwork Details: I focus on heavy Dabka, Zardosi, and cutwork finishing to ensure the details pop without weighing down the garment.
- Structural Fit: I add volume where it matters, ensuring the gharara flair sits correctly and the blouse fits like a second skin.
The Fitting Process
Because I want the fit to be perfect, we usually plan 1 to 2 trial sessions at my studio. This allows us to adjust the fall of the sharara, the length of the kurta, and the placement of the embroidery. If you have an event like a sangeet or a festive brunch coming up, tell me, and we can discuss silhouettes like peplum tops or capes that make the traditional gharara feel modern and fresh.
