Street & Travel Portraits
I find my stories on the streets. Whether it is the historic ruins of Hampi or a quiet morning in Cubbon Park, I capture people and places exactly as they are.
This portrait of a young girl in Hampi is one of my favorites. I used the soft, natural light and the rural road as a backdrop to frame her striking expression. This is the essence of an artistic travel portrait, capturing a powerful human moment.
The weathered face of this shepherd in Hampi tells a thousand stories. I wanted to create a character portrait that felt honest and respectful. By using the natural environment and side lighting, I could highlight the textures and quiet dignity in his expression.
Capturing this schoolboy's portrait in a busy Hampi market was about freezing a single, genuine moment in time. This is what I love about street photography; it allows me to create candid child portraits that feel alive and full of personality.
This shot from Hampi combines landscape and portrait photography. The warm sunset light and the vast, open field create a beautiful, story-driven scene. It's a great example of how I use locations to create fine art photographs that are more than just pictures.
A documentary-style shot of a corn seller at her street cart in Hampi. I was drawn to the colors, the textures, and the quiet routine of her work. This kind of candid street photography is about observing and capturing the beauty in everyday life.
Even a simple moment, like a man taking a nap in Cubbon Park, can make for a compelling photograph. I am always looking for these quiet, unposed scenes that tell a small story about life in the city. This is a candid individual portrait in its purest form.
About Street & Travel Portraits
I shoot strictly in natural light because I want your portraits to look like real life, not a staged production. When we head out to a spot like a park or a city street, we focus on moving around and finding the right light, not holding awkward poses for the camera.
My approach to street and travel photography is about simple observation. I do not use artificial flash or heavy equipment that gets in the way of a moment. I carry my Nikon D750 and walk until I find a scene that tells a story. Hampi and Bangalore offer completely different energies for this. In Hampi, I look for texture in the old walls and the quiet dignity of the people living there. In Bangalore, it is about finding stillness in the middle of city chaos, like someone taking a nap in the park or a street vendor starting their day.
For your session, we will not be stuck in a studio. We spend 60 to 90 minutes outdoors, moving through natural light to get those candid shots. I edit every image myself in Lightroom and Photoshop, aiming for color grades that feel honest and warm. You walk away with 12 to 15 high-resolution retouched images that show you at your most natural. If you want a portrait that feels like a piece of art rather than a standard photo, this is how we do it.
