I often see people jump straight into the high-energy cardio parts of a workout, but that is the fastest way to get sore or injured. In my sessions at Gfunk Studio, we always set aside time to properly warm up your muscles and cool down with a solid stretch. It makes all the difference in how you feel the next day, especially when you are dancing hard.
A great workout is about longevity, not just burning calories for an hour. My classes are designed to be a complete dance party where you leave feeling refreshed rather than drained. We start by waking up the body, getting the heart rate up gradually, and preparing the joints for the intensity of Latin and Bollywood tracks. This prevents those nagging aches that make you want to skip your next session. After the sweat, we dedicate time to static stretching. This helps lower your heart rate and improves flexibility over time. It is a vital part of the routine, ensuring you are ready to come back and hit the floor again, whether you are on the 8-session standard pack or the 20-session power pack.
