Makeup is science, not magic. My academy isn't about watching demos from a distance; it's about rolling up your sleeves, getting messy with practice, and actually learning how to handle real skin problems before you call yourself an artist.

A crucial lesson on product knowledge. I'm explaining the difference between a product's manufacturing expiry and its shelf life after opening, which is vital for skin safety.

An important lesson on client consent. I teach my students to never force a client to wear contact lenses and to always explain the potential discomforts beforehand.

Explaining to my students why clients might feel discomfort with lenses. It's often due to makeup particles or the lens shifting, which is normal and manageable.

A practical tip on color correctors. I advise my students to find one or two affordable correctors that work well and stick with them, rather than buying dozens of fancy ones.

Eye makeup is all about practicing your strokes. Here, I'm guiding a student through a C-motion blending exercise to build hand control and precision.

Discussing business practices with my students. For party makeup, it's important to charge for add-ons like using a facial razor, and I explain how to communicate this to clients.

During a seminar, I explain my philosophy on bridal makeup. The goal is to create a realistic, soothing look that is beautiful up close, not just from a distance.

A session on content creation. I'm explaining why a good quality phone is often a better and more practical choice than a DSLR for shooting makeup videos.

A hands-on session about lighting, camera, and angles. I teach my students how to capture their work professionally, as good photos are essential for building a portfolio.

Demonstrating the correct powdering technique. I show my students how to set the makeup with a light hand to avoid a cakey finish, adjusting the product based on the season.

About Inside the Classroom: My Teaching Method

If you think a 30-day course means watching me apply makeup while you sit back, you are in the wrong place. My students spend their time on real models, not mannequins, because you learn the most when you are dealing with real-life challenges like problematic skin, lens discomfort, and client expectations. We treat this like a proper job, complete with surprise tests and rigorous practice sessions, because a certificate is easy to get, but a solid portfolio needs sweat.
