Featured Urban Vegetable Garden Setups
Turning balconies and terraces in Bengaluru into productive green spaces. These are some of my favorite recent projects.
This is what it's all about: turning a small space into a source of fresh, organic greens. Here you can see freshly harvested palak and amaranth, ready for the kitchen, grown in our easy-to-manage raised planters.
About Featured
I build these setups using raised modular planter beds on custom metal stands. This design keeps your floor protected from dampness, saves you from bending over while gardening, and makes daily maintenance simple even in a tight balcony space.
How it works
My approach is to turn idle space into a working garden without the usual mess. Whether it is a small balcony in Sanjayanagara or a large terrace across Bengaluru, the goal is always the same: a clean, productive area that is easy to manage.
The Setup
I use heavy-duty, UV-treated plastic or matte-finish FRP troughs. These are mounted on custom-fabricated Mild Steel (MS) stands, powder-coated to last. This height, typically 6 to 12 inches off the ground, allows for proper drainage and ensures your flooring stays clean. For balconies, I use 12-14 inch UV-stabilized pots with saucers to catch excess water.
Soil and Growth
Plants are only as good as their soil. I provide a mix of Red Earth, Cocopeat, and Vermicompost, enriched with Neem Cake and Trichoderma to keep pests away naturally. You get to decide what to grow—from fast-growing greens like palak and amaranth to climbers like beans and cherry tomatoes. Everything is handled on-site, including the initial potting and a quick guide on how to harvest your first batch.
Beyond the Food
While the fresh harvest is the goal, the real benefit is the time you spend watering and tending to the plants. It creates a routine that acts as a break from the noise of the city. If you are starting from scratch, I can advise on placement based on your sunlight conditions to ensure your plants actually thrive.
