Botanical and Still Life Artworks

Nature is my biggest muse, and these floral and botanical studies are my way of bringing the outdoors inside. Whether it is a sketchbook rose or a garden scene, I paint these to add a little calm to your daily view.

Good things take time. This is a small gouache painting of red and peach roses in my sketchbook, a simple study of colors and petals.

Cute little mushrooms. This video shows me painting detailed mushrooms in a circle on the cover of a canvas notebook.

Watch me use fabric markers to draw and color whimsical red and brown mushrooms on a linen pouch. It was a fun little DIY project.

A work in progress video of a detailed acrylic painting on a round canvas. It features a garden scene with a watering can and lots of little flowers.

A fun idea to transform your sketchbook cover. This video shows me painting cute mushrooms, turning a simple notebook into a piece of art.

A view of my art wall, featuring a round canvas painting of three bright sunflowers. Sunflowers always bring so much happiness to my studio.

About this collection

I use professional-grade gouache and acrylics to capture the fine textures of petals and leaves. My botanical process is slow and intentional, so I suggest looking for pieces that match the natural light in your specific room, like sunflowers for a bright corner or soft roses for a quiet bedside table.

My Approach to Nature

When I sit down to paint a floral study, I focus on the little details that often go unnoticed in the rush of the day. Whether it is the specific hue of a peach rose or the pattern on a mushroom cap, my goal is to capture the quiet stillness of nature. These works are not just decorations, but little reminders to pause and breathe.

Materials and Texture

I choose my materials based on the story I want to tell:

  • Gouache on Paper: I use 300 GSM cotton paper for my delicate botanical sketches. This medium gives a beautiful matte finish that looks lovely in small frames or tucked into a journal.
  • Acrylics on Rigid Panels: For scenes that need more depth, I move to rigid canvas panels. I use heavy-body acrylics to build up texture, which works especially well for sunflowers and garden scenes. These are waterproofed and sealed to protect them from dust and yellowing.

Finding the Right Piece

If you are choosing a piece for your home, think about where you need a little more peace. A small, detailed gouache painting works well on a desk or a bookshelf, while a round acrylic panel adds a nice touch of warmth to a wall. I love when people share photos of their space with me so I can understand the colors and light you are working with. If you see a flower or a scene you love, reach out and we can create something that feels like yours.
