Our Expertise and Industry Collaborations
Adventure is our passion, but safety and sustainability are the foundations. Here is a look at our professional credentials and how we bridge the gap between classroom theory and real-world trekking.
I am proud to announce that Monks on Wheels is an approved Adventure Tour Operator by the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India. This recognition reflects my commitment to safety, quality, and professionalism.

About this collection
We do not just guide treks; we teach the next generation how to run them responsibly. Beyond our Ministry of Tourism approval, we regularly conduct seminars at institutions like KLE Tourism college. We focus on practical logistics, mountain ecosystem restoration, and sustainable adventure management, which are the same principles we apply to every expedition we lead across Karnataka.
Our approach to adventure is not just about the summit. It is about how we get there and who we take with us.
Why Expertise Matters
Being an approved Adventure Tour Operator by the Ministry of Tourism, Govt. of India, means we adhere to strict safety protocols, established evacuation plans, and professional staffing ratios. It is not just a badge; it is our operational backbone. When you trek with us in the Western Ghats or explore the backwaters of Mulki, you are moving with a team that has been vetted for safety, logistical competence, and environmental respect.
Bridging the Gap
We realized early on that there was a disconnect between tourism theory and the realities of running outdoor operations. That is why we collaborate with institutions like KLE Tourism college. During our 'Restoring Mountain Ecosystems' seminars, we break down:
- Sustainable Adventure Tourism: How to minimize the carbon footprint of large groups in fragile ecosystems like Kudremukh.
- Operational Logistics: The nuts and bolts of managing bus transport, catering, and safety kits for groups of 50+.
- Career Guidance: Real-world insights for students looking to enter the hospitality and adventure sector.
Whether we are flagging off a tourism ride at Vidhana Soudha or mentoring the next generation of guides, our goal remains the same. We want to show that adventure is a serious business that requires respect for the land and the people. If you are an institution looking for practical, on-ground insights, or a traveler wanting to explore Namma Karnataka with a certified team, let us talk.
Monks On Wheels
We are Chethan and Abhinav, and we started Monks on Wheels to turn our love for Namma Karnataka’s wild spaces into something meaningful. We believe in high energy and even higher standards, which is why we are constantly out there, either leading treks or sharing the reality of the field with tourism students.
