Our Gear, Safety Standards, and Community
Adventure requires trust. We invest in top-tier German-engineered gear and build a community of skilled, self-sufficient explorers ready to go wild.
New toys to play with. We invest in high-quality German-engineered gear from Edelrid, including harnesses, ropes, and descenders, because safety is paramount.
We received a generous donation of 13 pairs of canyoning shoes from Rich Carlson and Zion Outfitters, which we gifted to deserving local guides in North East India.
We collaborate with other trailblazers like Duia to discover new canyons and expand the sport in India. These guidebooks are essential tools for our research.

About Our Gear & Community
When you are hanging off a vertical waterfall, you do not want to worry about your rope. That is why we use certified Edelrid hardware—harnesses, descenders, and ropes that meet international safety standards. Beyond the equipment, you are joining the 'Proud Graduates of BASCOOL' community. We do not just run sessions; we build a network of adventurers who know how to stay safe, manage their gear, and help each other out in the wild.
Why Gear Matters
In this sport, there is no room for shortcuts. We source professional-grade Edelrid gear because it provides the heat dissipation and reliability needed for serious canyoning and rappelling. Whether you are practicing dry rock techniques in Bangalore or tackling a wet descent in Meghalaya, the gear you use during training is exactly what you will need in the field.
The BASCOOL Graduate Community
When you complete our courses, you are not just a client. You become a graduate. We have built a community that spans across India, where our members share discoveries, collaborate on new route explorations, and even support local guides. For example, we actively collaborate with trailblazers like Duia to map new canyons and redistribute quality canyoning shoes to deserving guides in the North East.
What You Get:
- Certified Safety: All equipment is checked, maintained, and replaced according to international standards.
- Hands-on Training: You will learn knot-tying, rope management, and anchor setup using the same tools we use on our own expeditions.
- Supportive Network: Access to a community of like-minded explorers, sharing tips, finding partners, and keeping the spirit of responsible, Leave-No-Trace adventure alive.
We train you to be the first responder in the wild. That starts with trusting your gear and knowing how to use it under pressure. If you are ready to stop watching and start doing, join our next session.
Bascool
I’m the lead guide at BASCOOL. I train people to go wild safely, focusing on real skills like rope management and wilderness navigation instead of just short-term thrills. If you want to master the gear and join a group that actually cares about the sport, you are in the right place.
