Hand-Painted Home Decor and Furniture Art
I see old furniture as stories waiting for a new chapter. Here is a glimpse of how I bring art to life on everything from heritage cabinets to pooja doors in Bangalore homes.
This video shows the entire journey of an old chest of drawers, from a plain wooden box to a stunning piece of floral art. You can see how I prep the surface and hand-paint each lotus flower, finishing with a piece that brings new energy to the room. This is what I mean by giving furniture a new story.
This pooja room door was a real rollercoaster project, completed overnight with a lot of 'jugad' to get it ready for the inauguration. It shows how I can work on different surfaces, like this CNC-cut panel, to create a traditional Pichwai-style cow that becomes a divine entrance.
Watch as a simple wooden chest is transformed with a vibrant turquoise base and delicate, hand-painted cherry blossoms. This is a peek into my process, from pouring the first drop of paint to the final brushstroke that brings the design to life.
I find so much inspiration in nature, and this driftwood sculpture is a perfect example. I turned a piece of found wood into a tiny coastal world, complete with a lighthouse and little houses. It’s a small piece of sustainable art that holds a big story.
My art isn't just for large furniture. Here, I've hand-painted a lampshade with warm, blooming lotuses, turning a simple lighting fixture into a custom decor accent. It’s a great way to add a touch of bespoke art to any corner of your home.
For me, the process is a form of therapy. This is a quiet moment from my studio, showing the careful, steady hand required for the intricate floral details. Every line and shade of blue is painted with intention to create something truly beautiful and personal.
About Featured
Bringing art into your space isn't just about the finished look; it’s about the process. Whether I am sanding down a family heirloom or painting on-site for a quick pooja room makeover, I handle the messy prep work so you do not have to. You just get the final, hand-painted result—one-of-a-kind, durable, and ready to use.
Why Upcycle?
We often toss out furniture because it looks dated or the polish is worn. I believe that is a waste of a good memory. My studio specializes in breathing new life into old chests, cabinets, and even found objects by hand-painting designs that reflect your personality.
The Process
It starts with a conversation about what you want for your space. Once we finalize a theme—be it floral, abstract, or traditional—I get to work.
- Prep: Cleaning, sanding, and priming. This is where the dust settles and the canvas is created.
- Painting: Every brushstroke is manual. No prints or stencils. I paint directly onto the wood or fabric.
- Sealing: I use high-quality matte or satin varnish to ensure the art survives Bangalore's climate, pets, and daily use.
Common Projects in Bangalore
- Furniture Transformation: Refreshing credenzas, cabinets, and side tables that have lost their original shine.
- On-site Door Art: Customizing fixed surfaces like pooja room doors. This is a personal favourite; I have even completed these overnight to ensure they are ready for house inaugurations.
- Small Decor: Lampshades, trays, and nameplates that act as conversation starters.
Sustainability is not a trend here; it is how I work. By reusing what you already own, we keep things out of landfills and make your home look like no one else's.
