About this collection
My hand-embroidered sarees are not just about fabric; they are about structure and balance. I pair high-density zardozi, aari, and resham work with lightweight base fabrics like organza and georgette, ensuring that despite the heavy embellishments, the drape remains fluid and elegant without feeling heavy.
When I started the Ruvaah collection, my intent was to bring the grandeur of bridal couture to the six-yard drape. A saree is a test of balance. It requires the right weight in the embroidery to ensure the pleats fall perfectly, yet the fabric must remain light enough for the wearer to move with grace throughout a long wedding reception.
The Craft of the Ruvaah Saree
Every saree I design undergoes a rigorous process. We work extensively with zardozi, a centuries-old craft that adds a distinct metallic luster, and combine it with modern elements like 3D floral appliqués and Swarovski crystals. This is not about covering the fabric in work; it is about strategic placement. By focusing the density of the embroidery on the border and the palla, I maintain a sense of space that allows the quality of the raw silk or organza to breathe.
Styling for Your Event
For those choosing a saree for a sangeet or a reception, I often suggest my pastel palettes. These shades, paired with silver thread work, provide a fresh, sophisticated look that stands out in evening lighting. If you prefer the classic bridal aesthetic, our deeper tones with antique gold embroidery offer that regal silhouette often associated with traditional weddings.

All sarees are finished to a high standard, ensuring comfort for long hours of wear. I invite you to visit my studio on Commercial Street, Bengaluru. Here, we can discuss the drape, the choice of blouse construction, and how to style the piece to match the scale of your event. Whether it is for your own wedding functions or as a guest, these sarees are created to be keepsakes that retain their beauty for years.
Meraj Couture
For me, couture is an intimate conversation between tradition and the modern spirit. When I design these sarees, I am thinking of how they move, how they catch the light, and how they make you feel empowered. It is my way of bringing the grandeur of heritage into your contemporary wardrobe.
