Traditional Mehendi Motifs and Bridal Arm Bands
I create custom arm bands that serve as the foundation for your bridal mehendi. Whether it is a classic peacock or a meaningful kalash, these motifs set the perfect tone for your special day.
Here is a collection of some of my bridal arm band designs. These "startups" are the foundation of a full arm mehendi and can feature a variety of motifs and patterns.
This arm band features a sacred kalash, a symbol of abundance and wisdom. It's a meaningful and traditional choice for any auspicious occasion or festival.
A fun and celebratory arm band design featuring a dhol. This motif is perfect for bringing the festive music and energy of a wedding celebration into your mehendi.
This bridal arm band design features two peacocks forming a heart shape, with a lotus blooming above them. It's a very romantic and popular motif for brides.
A close-up of a peacock motif framed within a jharokha, or window. The fresh green henna paste shows the detail and shading I use to bring the design to life.
A detailed look at a floral and mandala arm band. The combination of bold lines and delicate shading creates a design with a lot of depth and texture.
Watch as I fill in the details of the floral arm band. My steady hand and fine-tipped cone allow me to create the clean lines that are essential for a beautiful finished design.
About Traditional Motifs & Arm Bands
These arm bands are more than just a pattern. Think of them as the anchor for your bridal mehendi. When we plan your design, we start here to set the theme, whether you want a traditional kalash or a playful dhol, before we flow into the intricate work on your palms.
My bridal 'start-ups'—the arm bands you see here—are designed to be the highlight of your forearm art. For many brides, these are the starting point of a larger, cohesive bridal set. I focus on creating clean, distinct lines so that even from a distance, the motif stands out clearly.
Why focus on these motifs?
- Traditional Symbols: The Kalash represents abundance and wisdom, while the Dhol is perfect if you want to bring the energy of your wedding sangeet into your mehendi.
- Modern & Personal: If you prefer birds, we can create intricate peacock designs. These can be symmetrical if you are getting work done on both arms.
- Organic Quality: I mix my own henna paste using natural ingredients. This is especially important for these larger arm bands because you want a deep, rich stain that lasts through all the wedding ceremonies. You will not find any harsh chemicals here, just the natural colour that matures over 48 hours.
Whether you have a design in mind or want me to suggest motifs that fit your personality, I am happy to mix and match. We can keep it minimal or make it very dense with shading to match the rest of your bridal henna.
