I am Apurva, a Mumbai-based artist turning bridal dreams into henna art. From delicate florals to detailed wedding stories, I bring your unique vision to life.
This is a classic full-hand bridal mehendi design that extends to the elbows. I've included several traditional wedding motifs here, such as the paired peacocks on the forearms and elephants on the palms, which symbolize grace and good fortune.
A close-up of my bridal feet mehendi work. This design features repeating lotus motifs, a symbol of purity and beauty, set within a grid pattern that covers the entire foot for a complete and elegant look.
I love telling your story through henna. This video shows a personalized bridal mehendi featuring detailed dulha-dulhan (bride and groom) portraits on each palm, making the design truly unique to the couple.
This intricate bridal henna showcases a blend of auspicious symbols. You can see graceful peacocks on the palms and the sacred swastika symbol on the forearms, all woven together with detailed filler patterns.
This is an example of an engagement mehendi design. I incorporated the couple's initials, 'S' and 'K', into the center of each hand, creating a beautiful and personal way to celebrate their union.
This video gives a slow reveal of a floral mehendi design. The contrast between the dark, filled-in background and the delicate lotus patterns makes the artwork pop, showing the depth and dimension I aim for.
Here is a full bridal mehendi design after the henna paste has been applied. The dense application, from fingertips to elbows, ensures a rich, dark stain, which is what every bride hopes for.
My design process starts with a sketch. This allows us to plan the placement of key elements like peacocks, elephants, and lotuses, ensuring you are happy with the concept before we begin the application.
About Featured
Before the henna cones even come out, we sit down together to sketch out your ideas on paper. This helps us plan exactly where the motifs go, from lotus flowers to specific portraits, ensuring you are happy with the layout before I start the final application.
Bridal mehendi is about capturing your wedding memories in colour and care. Whether you want traditional Rajasthani motifs like peacocks and elephants or a narrative piece featuring dulha-dulhan portraits, I focus on creating a design that feels like you.
My Approach to Bridal Henna
I use 100% natural, organic henna paste mixed with essential oils to ensure a deep, rich stain. My process is detailed and intentional. For full bridal coverage, I work from fingertips to elbows and toes to ankles, focusing on high-density patterns that leave minimal negative space. This ensures the intricate details, such as the jaali work and floral borders, stand out clearly.
Customisation and Planning
Every bride has a different story, and your mehendi should reflect that. We can integrate your initials, specific wedding symbols like a swastika or kalash, or even key moments from your rituals into the design. If you choose the Royal Portrait package, I dedicate extra time to hand-drawing the bride and groom figures, framed within jharokha arches, to create a truly personalised piece of art.
Practical Details
Getting bridal mehendi is a commitment of time. Depending on the complexity of your design, the application can take anywhere from 4 to 8 hours. I provide a lemon-sugar sealant to keep the mehndi moist, which helps achieve the dark, long-lasting colour you want for your wedding day. I travel across the Mumbai Metropolitan Area to work with you in the comfort of your home.
