Contemporary & Floral Mehendi Designs
I love mixing traditional motifs with modern floral vines and negative space. Here are some of my favorite creative experiments that play with balance and delicate details.
This design is a little different, using negative space to create a modern floral vine on the back of the hand. The dark henna makes the flowers and leaves stand out beautifully.
A delicate and feminine design for a soon-to-be bride. This piece features a frame of roses on the back of the hand and matching floral patterns on the fingers.
A rare design on my own right hand. This piece focuses on a dense cluster of floral and paisley patterns on the palm, with detailed work on the fingers.
My favorite circular motifs. This video shows a design made of repeating mandalas and leafy patterns, creating a very hypnotic and beautiful effect on the palm.
A little self-love with this design. It features bold, circular floral mandalas that create a powerful statement on the back of the hand.
I'm obsessed with this modern floral design. The video shows how I use negative space and bold, dark roses to create a pattern that is both elegant and striking.
This is love! A finished look of the modern floral design, showing the beautiful contrast between the dark henna and the skin. The composition flows from the wrist to the fingertips.
Being creative is a way of life. This design features a classic paisley shape at the wrist, but the palm is filled with a more modern, spaced-out pattern for a lighter feel.
About Contemporary & Floral Designs
My modern floral designs focus on creating contrast. Unlike heavy traditional bridal work, I use negative space—leaving parts of the skin clear—to make the roses and vines pop against the dark stain. It is a lighter, airy look that works perfectly if you want something stylish but not overly cluttered for smaller occasions or pre-wedding events.
I find that traditional bridal mehendi has its place, but there is so much beauty in the simplicity of contemporary floral art. I often work with brides who want something different for their Sangeet or engagement—something that looks delicate in photos and complements a modern outfit.
When I create these designs, I look for balance. I start with a central motif, like a mandala or a cluster of roses, and then build outwards with vines and leaves. The technique relies on precision. Because I use 100% organic henna without any chemicals, the stain needs time to develop, but it comes out rich and dark, which creates a stunning contrast against the negative space I leave between the petals.
If you are looking for a mehendi artist in Andheri West or across Mumbai, know that I treat every hand as a fresh canvas. Whether you want a simple vine crawling up your arm or a bold, geometric pattern, I love to experiment. I am always open to client requests, even if you just have a rough idea or a photo you saw online. I am not about copy-pasting designs; I am about finding what feels right for you. My aim is always to provide a safe, natural, and enjoyable experience from start to finish.

Hi, I'm Ruhi! Mehendi is my absolute passion, and I get so excited when I get to move away from standard patterns to create something floral and modern. Every design I draw is done with my own organic, chemical-free henna, and I put my heart into making sure it looks exactly how you imagined.
