About Personal Touches: Names & Initials

Trying to figure out where to hide your name or initials? My best tip is to decide the placement before we start the main flow. If you tuck a name right into a super dense Indian pattern, it often gets lost, but placing it on the inner wrist or inside a simple heart or mandala frame makes it a sweet focal point instead of an afterthought.

The best part about custom mehendi is the secret stories we can hide in plain sight. I love the challenge of integrating names into complex designs so they look like part of the pattern, rather than something stamped on top.

Why Personalize?

Whether it is your partner's name, a significant date for an engagement, or a meaningful word like 'Ishq' (love), adding these details changes the design from just a pattern to a memory. I have done everything from initials in Arabic calligraphy to baby shower designs that say 'Baby Coming Soon' in a heart on the palm.

Design Tips for Names & Initials

  • Arabic Calligraphy: This is my go-to for names. It flows beautifully with henna patterns and looks sophisticated.
  • The 'Frame' Effect: If you want the name to stand out, we can place it inside a clear circle, a heart, or a diamond motif. This keeps the name clean and prevents it from merging with the surrounding floral or geometric work.
  • Symbol Placement: For symbols like the infinity sign or dates, the back of the hand or near the wrist is usually better than the palm, as the palm area sees more friction and the design might fade faster.

My Process

When you book, just let me know if you have a specific word or symbol in mind. I use my own organic henna, so whether you choose a minimalist style or a full bridal look, you can count on that rich, deep maroon stain that makes these personalized touches really pop. If you are stuck on ideas, show me a reference or just tell me the vibe you want, and we will figure it out together.
