Mastering Makeup for Every Skin Type
Makeup isn't one-size-fits-all. Learn the technical precision needed to enhance mature skin, cover vitiligo, and balance complex tones with confidence.
Welcome to the Vitiligo Masterclass. Before we start the practical, I explain the theory. The process is different from normal color correction because we are working to even out the skin tone, not just hide blemishes.
The first step in vitiligo makeup is to identify the client's true complexion, which is the skin that does not have the white patches. This is our target shade for creating an even base.
Here, one of my trainers demonstrates the color correction process for vitiligo. We also discuss related conditions like albinism, where there is a complete loss of melanin, to give students a comprehensive understanding.
A before-and-after of my mature skin makeup demo. I teach the do's and don'ts, such as sticking to basic eye makeups like a soft smokey eye and using minimal glitter to enhance features without settling into fine lines.
A full before-and-after from our senior skin workshop. My students learn how to properly prep and apply makeup on mature skin to create a fresh, lifted, and radiant look.
How do you choose a lipstick for a dark skin tone? I explain that even with a nude outfit, you can make a nude lipstick work by pairing it with a brown lip liner to create a beautiful ombre effect that won't wash out the complexion.
Groom's makeup is a growing market. I teach the key principles: contour and bronze to maintain masculine features, lightly groom the brows without over-shaping, and use a lip balm instead of lipstick for a natural finish.
About this collection
True artistry lies in the details that others overlook. For instance, when working with dark skin tones, a standard nude lipstick often washes the client out. I teach my students to ditch the guesswork and pair a nude shade with a deeper brown lip liner to create a seamless ombre effect. It’s these small, technical shifts in your application that separate a hobbyist from a professional who understands the science of color on different complexions.
When you enter the bridal industry, you aren’t just working on one face type. You’re working on mothers with mature skin, grooms who need subtle grooming, and clients with diverse skin conditions like vitiligo or albinism. My curriculum at MBM School is built around this reality.
Vitiligo & Corrective Base
We don't just 'hide' patches. I teach you how to identify the client's true complexion—the skin without patches—and treat it as your base target. It requires a precise understanding of color correction that goes beyond basic peach concealers.
Mature Skin Techniques
Forget the heavy, cakey look. For mature clients, it’s about minimal glitter and soft eye makeup that doesn’t settle into fine lines. We focus on techniques that lift and refresh the face rather than highlighting texture.
Groom Makeup
Men want to look polished, not made-up. We practice light contouring to maintain masculine structure and use balms for hydration instead of pigmented lipsticks.
Inclusive Education
My goal is to make you a versatile artist. Whether it’s matching a foundation to body skin to avoid that 'mask' effect or working with students who have different learning needs, we focus on the practical skills that define a career. If you’re ready to move past generic tutorials and actually learn the logic of makeup, this is where you start.
