Why I Bake

I started Maska Bakery to bottle up the joy and nostalgia of Bombay, mixing old-school flavours with a bit of playful imagination. For me, baking is about more than just desserts - it’s about sharing memories and a whole lot of maska (butter and love).

Thoda Bombay, Thoda Maska

Everything I make is inspired by classic Bombay bakeries, but with a twist. You’ll find familiar flavours like chai and khari, but also new creations you won’t see anywhere else. I love honouring tradition while making something fresh for you.

Signature Bakes

  • Croissant Cake innovation: Layers of croissant, chocolate cake, salted caramel, and marshmallow. It’s wild, but it works.
  • Basque Cheesecake with seasonal fruit compote.
  • Carrot Cake that’s moist and rich.
  • Pistachio & Strawberry Cream Cake when Mahabaleshwar strawberries are in season.

Seasonal Festival Desserts

I go all out for festivals - Diwali, Christmas, Makar Sankranti, Ganpati, Rakhi - with special menus. Think Chocolate Orange & Marigold Cake, Mutton Karanjis, Plum Cakes, Til-Gud treats, Modak Bonbons, and more. Tilgul ghya goad goad bola! (Take sweets and speak sweetly!)

Savoury Bakes

Not just sweet stuff here. I experiment with bold, comforting flavours:

Celebration Cakes

No fondant celebration cakes here. I focus on taste - rich buttercreams, fresh fruit, natural decorations. Every cake is made to celebrate your moments, not just look pretty.

My Story

Two years in, and what a wild ride! Honestly, more than our 223 menu items or pop-ups, what sticks with me is the family vibe here - inside the kitchen and with all you regulars. This bakery? Pure Bombay love. We once did a whole art deco cake, hand-drawn details and all, just for the city. And Santosh bhai from Matunga, our strawberry guy, he’s family now too. So yeah, thanks for being part of this mad, sweet journey.

Seasonal, Fresh Menu - Our menu keeps changing - think Mahabaleshwar strawberry desserts or Dilli Carrot Cake, all using the best local produce.

Bombay-Inspired Flavours - Every bake has a bit of Bombay - thoda city, thoda maska. Like our art deco-inspired cake and croissant rum balls.

How to Order - Order for delivery or takeaway, Tue-Sun, 11-8. Holiday menus and weekend specials drop often. Careful, some bakes are addictive!
